Summary: The cd open/close button is on the opposite side of the cd drawer. The on/off button is directly above the cd drawer. This makes many, and I mean many accidental turning off the cd player when one only wants to close the cd player. I mean really want kind of retard puts the on/off button above a cd player?
Summary: I bought this player in June, 2010. It worked very well for a year. The picture was good, the online viewing selection was sufficient for my needs, and I had no problems with it. After a year, things started to go bad. When playing a DVD the sound would cut out, usually once per disk. I would have to stop/pause the DVD and restart to get the sound back. Bluray disks never had this problem. Annoying, but not a deal-breaker.
Cons: About once per movie, the unit will fail and display a blank screen for a second or 2 and the sound will stop, then resume where it left off at. I had a similar problem with the first one I bought, and took it back and exchanged it. This one ran good for about 1 month, then it started acting up with the same problem.
Wireless Netflix, Yay! Unbalanced & noisy, like an ideling diesel truck, not so good.

Summary: I was watching a dvd and thought that there was a truck idling outside (I lack directional hearing). When I mentioned the noise, my wife pointed out that the noise was coming from the blue-ray player. I was astonished (not a word I use lightly). Thinking it was the disc, I tried others--still noisy. Problem took about 6 months to surface, labor warranty is 90 days. Not so inclined to pay shipping both ways, plus labor, vs. buying a Sony.
Summary: After weeks of working with Amazon to get the player to stream 5.1 digital sound when streaming HD video, they (Amazon) verified that this device will not stream 5.1 Digital sound when streaming HD from Amazon.com. And I found the same problem with Netflix HD streaming. Normally, I would not make a big deal of this.
