Great blue ray player, but I wonder if it's worth it

Summary: Simple to set up. Have it hooked up to my Pioneer Kuro 50" plasma and it looks beautiful. Slightly annoyingly long time to start up when you turn it on. I just have this slightly nagging feeling that buying a blueray player was just a waste of money as compared to a regular DVD player or an AppleTV. Not sure if paying more for this one vs one of the cheaper blueray players was worth it either.
Summary: The picture quality and sound on this player are excellent. My unit seems to have issues with the BD-Live feature. After numerous calls into Panasonic Tech Support, they were not able to solve the problem and it looks like I am going to have to send it in to the service center (on my own dime). This is the only trouble that I have had with the unit, the other features work like a charm.
Summary: We received the Panasonic DMP-BD50K very quickly after our order through Amazon. The player has worked flawlessly and we have enjoyed playing both blu-ray disks and regular disks. Great equipment. Updates the software via the internet connection we provided.
Summary: This is my first Blu-ray player, connected to my Samsung 52" LCD TV. It is absolutely amazing. Picked up the BBC Planet Earth series on Blue-ray and the picture is stunning. I was able to add it to my wireless network by using an Airport Express. The only reason I did not give this Blu-ray player 5 stars is that it doesn't not come with built in wireless.
Summary: This is my first Blu-Ray player as I've been waiting for one like this to come along and it does it all. seems well built, the menu is easy to follow, tons of user setting and load times are good. my only complaint is it ships with a set of composite cables. Huh? who would need these? Composite cannot output HD. This is why i didn't give it five stars.
