Summary: I bought this mainly because I wanted to start listening to SACDs. I already had a BDP-83 and it had a very good picture and acceptable sound quality from HDMI to my Integra. However, the 2-channel analog output left much to be desired. This unit has outstanding sound quality for 2 channel CD and SACD to the analog outputs. The sound is very full and rich. Imaging and instrument placement is very good.
Summary: I bought the OPPO-105 so I could start playing high resolution digital music sources such as SACDs, DVD-Audio disks, downloadable DSD recordings and other downloadable high resolution sources (96k, 192k PCM, etc.). Plus I wanted to stop buying and storing CDs and I wanted to have all my digital music stored on the hard drive of a lap top that would become my high resolution digital music center.
Summary: Overview of the Oppo BDP-105 The Oppo BDP-105 is an audiophile quality all-in-one media hub for digital audio and video playback functioning as a computer media hub, and as a digital stereo music preamplifier with volume control. The BDP-105 is OppoDigital's flagship "media hub." The lesser performing BDP-95 was placed into the A+ class on Stereophile Magazine's annual list of 2012 and 2013 Recommended Components!

Summary: When I first heard of the Oppo 105 I was told it was a $1200 blu ray player. First thing I said to myself was "why in the world would you spend that much money on a blu ray player?" So just for the heck of it I watched a review of this product. Calling it a blu ray player is a bit misleading. It does so much more. It has awesome video performance and awesome audio performance.
Summary: Read the other reviews here and you'll get the idea. This player is everything they say it is and more than I will figure out in this lifetime. A very complex and universal component but very easy and intuitive to use. If this is your price range and you want flexibility, do not hesitate. An award winning audiophile caliber component.

Summary: There has been a lot written about this player already, so I'll keep this short. It's best to describe it this way - I hooked the BDP-105 up to my two channel two amp and speakers, and was so captivated by the sound that it took two weeks for me to bother hooking it up to my Onkyo THX Receiver. It's really that good! Now, if you don't care about the audiophile DAC, then just get yourself the BDP-103 and save yourself a bunch of money.
