Firmware update and factory reset will resolve many issues.

Summary: When I brought the 105D home and hooked it up to my TV and amp/speakers, I got a bunch of static when nothing was playing. When I turned on a bluray movie, I got pixelated craziness on the screen. Turns out all I needed was the firmware update.

Summary: If you do not have a high end 2 channel stereo then you will not benefit from the analog sound section of the 105. However, if you do, then you will have a smother and cleaner sound with excellent detail and sound staging.
Summary: I waited almost 12 months before finally pulling the trigger on this. Price put me off, but I eventually figured out a 105D could replace half my current system and almost fund itself. I had a new credit card with 15 months 0% interest; it was the right time to get it.
Summary: This thing is amazing! This sounds cliche, but I'm hearing things in music that I know by heart that I've never heard before. The detail is so precise you can hear in between voices singing harmony. The soundstage is deep and wide. The quality of the sound is just perfect. Natural and warm.
Summary: You can read the specs everywhere on this player so I won't bother with those. I have played music CDs, DVDs, and Blu Ray discs and all work great. The features are varied, video is stunning, and sound is also excellent. It is more expensive than many other players but in my mind, very worth it.
Summary: I don't normally write too many reviews, but I'm taking a break to write this one. This player has an EXCELLENT audio section. I have some HD FLAC files loaded onto a hard drive and plugged into the unit.

Pros: This unit will replace a Denon receiver, Denon disc player, Panasonic Blu-ray player, Schiit DAC, Schiit headphone amplifier and many feet of cables, and the system sound has been upgraded. My system now consists of: Panasonic 58" plasma, OPPO 105D, ADCOM 2&3-channel power amps, 5 Paradigm speake...
Cons: Streaming music files over a home network is a bit clunky, but it does work.
The resolution of this player is so high that badly recorded music sounds exactly that way - it is very accurate and doesn't mask anything. A warm analog sound (which can be more forgiving of a bad recording) is no...
Summary: I was reluctant to spend more than 1k into a player that i was gonna use only for a 2 channel system playing redbook cd's. I tried several cd players under 1k, including marantz, nad, emotiva erc-3 but nothing beat my emotiva ERC-2 especially if i have to spend extra cash.
