So Far, So Good

alan, Amazon
16 May 2014
  • Summary: This is probably a little early for a review: I had it for only a week. But the picture is definitely better than my Sony's. However I have not yet adjusted to the difference in sound. I think that once I get the sound equalized with my speakers the it will be fine. I haven't had time to try out the many features that are offered, so that will come later. I already own a 3-yr old OPPO, so I know that they offer very good value.

Great but not musically refined

a fan, Amazon

  • Summary: Movies are great and the ability to update the firmware is nice and easy. Not as musically pleasing to me compared to a former Marantz player. I do not notice much difference on Blu Rays with Darbee turned on versus off.

Great Player

Tom McGrew, Amazon
7 March 2014
  • Summary: The Oppo DVD/CD player is a great addition to my stereo set-up. Not sure it is worth the price paid however. When all the other DVD players can be had for less than $150.00, I'm not sure this is worth what I paid for it. The manufacturing is better, closer tolerances. With all the added features are compared to what else is out there, I'm just not sure...

  • Summary: Love the ease of use and setup. Works as advertise would recommend to everyone but the budget should be higher.

Maybe consider the BDP-103 without the Roku stick

Joe M "Build it in the USA", Amazon
11 February 2014
  • Summary: I bought 2 of these units with Roku sticks. The stick is WiFi and really kills any other WiFi use in the house. I bought it because Amazon prime is not available on the Oppo without it. I would consider a hard wired Roku if I had it to do over. The Oppo Blue Ray player is fantastic. Well built, fast, beautiful picture. No complaints 5 stars!

Great, but trys to do too much

  • Summary: Oppo makes a fantastic product with great packaging and their customer service is excellent, maybe beyond excellent. That said, I returned the 103D. My primary motivation in buying the 103D was the need for a new 3D BD player along with my interest in Darbee. After reading about Darbee, it seemed like a great value to get a Oppo player for just a few hundred dollars more than the Darbee Darblet alone. The problem is that I still think you need a separate Darbee.

Almost 5 stars

Amazon user, Amazon
29 December 2013
  • Summary: I love this player. It is great on Bluray and online TV & movie streaming. If you want Amazon Prime, you have to buy the Roku stick. The good news is that the Roku Stick works great. The player is also fantastic if you stream audio. It plays almost any format of audio file I have thrown at it. The disc player part plays almost anything also including HDCD. I docked one star for occasional lock ups that require a reboot.

Good but not $600 great

Richard Bondi, Amazon
9 November 2013
  • Summary: Update 1/1/2014 =========== New Chromecast-like integration with Youtube! I think this feature only appeared with the December 5th, 2013 firmware upgrade. After it, when I play Youtube videos in a Chrome browser, there's a new icon in the bottom right corner with the words "OPPO". Click it, and the Youtube video starts playing on the Oppo player (after quite a few seconds, about 20 or so).

Just as good as the last model, but with a catch...

Jeffrey C. Lindholm, Amazon
13 October 2013
  • Summary: I sold my 93 (the previous model) so that I could get the HDMI-in feature. Well, turns out if you read the fine print, that you can't do the high-definition audio formats through the HDMI-in, making the feature almost useless for what I wanted to do with it, which is run my HTPC through it. It is fine if you want to use it with a cable box that can't do those anyways.
