Summary: The Oppo 103d is the enthusiasts choice of player but at nearly $1000 in the uk it should be better than it is. Some notable highs are the great customer support, inclusion of darbee which is fun, stable new Netflix app and input for other equipment like a TiVo box. Not so good is that it buffers steams far cheaper equipment handle easily, no movie art whereas my cheap wdtv does for the same material, some minor lip sync issues.
Pros: Darbee, Netflix now super steady, clock counts down, good customer support
Summary: I have the BDP103 player. This player is about on the same level. The Darby adds a lot on a large tv. Anything less than 60" and the effect is greatly reduced imho. Notes: Player is lighter than 103 Power Cord is less robust Remote better than 103 I tried this on a 70" 1080P tv and the result is top notch processing and sound. Enuf said. I would buy the marketing for a large 1080p tv to a point. Players are getting much better.
Summary: I've owned an Oppo 103 but returned it thinking this Darbee model would be better as it was only $100 more. Just like the 103, everything is the same right down to the manual. I have mixed feelings about the "Darblet" in this unit "improving" my picture. I read up on it and know you need to keep its settings low for the most part or you can introduce artifacts.
do NOT install the May 3 firmware update if you plan to use HDMI inputs

Summary: I've had this Blu ray player for a little less than 2 months; until recently my only complaints have been a strange design decision to put the second HDMI input o the front of the player rather than the back (which makes any kind of cable hookup extremely awkward) and the lack of an internal wireless card (forcing you to waste a USB input slot on an included wireless stick).
Summary: Pictures were superb, however the player was faulty, it would not update the software and when I connected it to my Panasonic 4K tv via the new HDMI v2.0 input there was no sound(I tested it on another 4k tv and that was the same) In the end I returned it for a refund, Shame!!!
