Unbelievable product!

Subdusted, Amazon

  • Summary: Simply stunning ! Totally exceeded my expectations, everything is just like on darbee website. I played with different modes and settings and they are all fun. When you turn off Darbee processing it seems like there's a sheet over a screen...everything is so bland. So much better than the original 103 ( I have both ).

Great Product

Alan Eldridge, Amazon
8 June 2014
  • Summary: I can't say I notice a difference from other less expensive players when playing a Blu-ray, but, there is a huge difference when playing a DVD. The OPPO is superior when converting the DVD. CD music also sounds better when compared to other players. I've auditioned a few players at Best Buy, Paul's TV, and a couple of other stores. The remote is fantastic. It's intuitive and easy to use, I love the back lighting when its dark while watching a movie.

The best addition to your home theater

W. Wetmore, Amazon
19 May 2014
  • Summary: Transformational! As other reviews state... This is likely the best investment you can make for your home theater. I've had it for only a few days now, however I've played just about every type of media it can take including CD, SACD, DVD-A, DVD, BluRay, mp3, m4a, DSD, PCM. Every single thing I've watched or listened to has been a revelation.

My fourth, fifth? Oppo -- and I don't play discs!

John R. Kelly, Amazon
16 May 2014
  • Summary: All USB for me. I realize Oppo was credited for solving the chroma-bug in DVDs and became an instant hit, with other companies borrowing their innards (Ayre, Lexicon) and adding thousands to the price of the Oppo. I can't tell you much about the disc quality playback -- it's great, the best I've heard from users and reviewers, but I can't have played more than 10 discs in almost a decade of almost all the models they make...but this is the best. No kidding.

So Far, So Good

alan, Amazon
16 May 2014
  • Summary: This is probably a little early for a review: I had it for only a week. But the picture is definitely better than my Sony's. However I have not yet adjusted to the difference in sound. I think that once I get the sound equalized with my speakers the it will be fine. I haven't had time to try out the many features that are offered, so that will come later. I already own a 3-yr old OPPO, so I know that they offer very good value.

OPPO is a Fantastic Company - Highly Recommended

J. Martin, Amazon
10 May 2014
  • Summary: Compared to other brands I have owned there is no contest. The SACD, HDCD, and DVD Audio playback using the BDP-103 are the best digital sound reproduction I have heard. Telarc 20 bit and red book CD's are up-sampled and are fantastic sounding. The Blu-ray disc and DVD playback is flawless. Netflix and other online services work well, and with far less wait time to download content. Boot time is very fast.

Darbee Works

Keller: A Casual Gamer, Amazon
28 April 2014
  • Summary: One of the main, if not the main, selling points is the Darbee processing chip. The claim to fame is the chip can add detail/depth to the picture without adding unwanted artifacts. I played with the unit on my 65 inch plasma. I paused quite a few movies and changed my Darbee settings. There is absolutely no doubt it works and works well. Spotting the improvements was not difficult. With Darbee set to "high-def" at about 50% the screen really popped.
