Summary: This player works okay. Picture quality is good. The one problem I had with this blu-ray player is after two months the remote no longer worked as I had to order another one. Currently works fine.
Summary: Great price for the player, but the control to box is very slow to react and you have to be exactly in a direct line to the signal from the remote to the box or it doesn't work at all. Will probably buy a better quality one in the future.
Summary: Purchased this unit about 8 months ago at Walmart's. A month ago I noticed the DVD drawer started to progressively slow down in opening and closing. I don't have a large library of blu-ray dvds so it couldn't be from excessive usage. And then 2 weeks ago the sound just went although the picture was fine. Purchased a new dvd cleaning disc...nope..wasn't the problem. Guess it's time to spring for a new player!
Summary: I bought this product 3 years ago in December 2009. I finally just upgraded to a new Sony blu ray player that streams Netflix, Amazon, etc. I am not getting rid of this unit, however. I've never had a problem with playing standard or blu ray discs in this player. The only downfall is a slow load time for blu ray discs.
Excerpt: Very basic blu-ray. We picked it up on the spur of the moment with no research. There is no clock or timer that shows how long the movie has been playing. Not necessary but it is nice to have that feature. For the price it's ok but if we had known more we would have done more research and spent more money to buy something we would be happier with.
Summary: Yes, this player was very cheap at the time I purchased it. It was $78.00 new. In my opinion, it would have been worth putting up 20 or 30 dollars more and getting one that has an ethernet port, and one that has better compatibility for playback of DVD +/- R and RW. This player claims to be compatible with these discs, but it is not. It really is hit or miss. Some will play, some won't.
Summary: This equipment is in good condition and has an excellent image quality, but has no HDMI connector. The physical conditions make it look like new and the SD memory is a very interesting application
Summary: As of October 2011 (the date of this review) if you're in the market for a blu-ray player and you're looking at this one, just keep looking. I bought this close to 2 years ago as my first blu ray player. At the time, I was excited to have a high def player with an SD card slot. After a little bit of use, I realized how disappointing this item is and I'm now looking to replace it. For starters, the disc loading is extremely slow.
Summary: We bought this player at walmart as a black friday special. Slow to load and change from menu options. The picture was fantastic. Was fantastic. It lasted a year and a half with not very many movies through it. Just got a new tv today and it failed us; so it has poor timing too. It was barely worth the 78 dollars we paid for it, not worth any more. Save your money and get something better.
