Summary: This LG Blue Ray player is excellent. Easy to set up. Easy to control, with and an excellent picture. I was really happy to see that this player provides a lot of controls for picture adjustment. No problem with load time. I was impressed that this unit not only has an ethernet port but wifi as well. The wifi was a snap to setup and reception is flawless. Before buying this player I had the new Samsung BD player.
Summary: As of 4/2/2011.... LG blu ray players with mlb.tv internet option are not working correctly with MLB.TV internet application of MLB. Is supposed to be working in a few days. LG Engineers are working on it. Other than this problem, I have found the LG Blu Rays players to be fine. I have two of them. BX580 with is 3D and another no 3D player. I am using on-line apps of Netflix, Pandora, and download my computers music files. My computer is running W7.
Very Good Features, Performance Except on Photo Display

Summary: I am mostly pleased with this Blu-ray player's features and performance. I have it connected via HDMI to a 3D-capable AV receiver and as expected it does a great job playing Blu-ray DVD's as well as upconverting standard DVD's. I haven't been able to test the 3D capability because I'm still undecided on a 3D TV.
So far a solid blu-ray player with good DLNA support

Summary: I bought this player 1 week ago primarily because I wanted a player that had reliable DLNA support and played a wide array of video formats. The majority of the reviews I read pointed to an LG player. Because my new TV has 3D I decided to pay extra for a player that also supports 3D. Pros: Great picture. DLNA works great, all of the videos I've tried so far on my file server played fine, including AVI, MKV and DIVX.
Summary: I have not been able to review all features, though the internet conection has worked great so far. Setting up the WiFi conection could not be easier. It detected the available networks, I picked my access point, it requested the password or key (I don't like the screen keyboard). Then it displays IP address and DNS settings. I left them blank or set to dinamically assign or automatically assign, that's one of the things that could get you confuse.
Summary: it represents great value for money - and it seems, that is the reason not to improve the software in general. i had two firmware update failures and it is quite clear that the network bandwidth is not used efficiently. hope LG will consider worth its while to improve the software. the device does quite a bit - DLNA support, some network content provider compatibility and enhanced physical media replay capability are all great.
Summary: Even with the free shipping option, the product showed up within a few days; much sooner than I expected. Setup out of the box was super easy. The BX580's built in wireless found my network & connected very easily. No connection quality issues despite the router being several rooms away. Startup seems a bit slow but I haven't had other Blu-Ray players to know how to compare. The Netflix function works great & streaming quality is quite good.
