An easy-to-use, but sluggish, Blu-ray player

CNET
30 September 2012
  • Summary: The LG BP530 has built-in Wi-Fi and a good selection of apps, but there are just enough quirks to keep it from being a top Blu-ray player pick.
  • Pros: The LG BP530 offers a fine selection of streaming services, built-in Wi-Fi, and decent disc playback. It also features subtle styling and a well-laid-out remote and is easy to use, despite some user interface clutter.
  • Cons: Netflix loads particularly slowly. The neat Private Listening feature only works with discs, not apps, and isn't reliable. And there are minor image quality issues for picky viewers.

LG BP620

CNET
30 September 2012
  • Summary: If you want 3D, the LG BP620 has most of the right features, but the absence of Amazon Instant and a dedicated Netflix button hurt its value a bit.
  • Pros: The LG BP620 has built-in Wi-Fi, 3D compatibility, and LG's Smart TV suite of streaming-media services, which includes Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, and Vudu. The user interface for the Smart TV services is the best on any Blu-ray player this year.
  • Cons: The BP620 lacks Amazon Instant streaming, and several other services (MLB.TV, MOG) aren't available yet. The remote doesn't have dedicated buttons for Netflix or to jump right to the Smart TV services. And the step-down BP320 is a slightly better deal if you don't need 3D compatibility.

LG BP620 Blu-ray 3D Player

Sound & Vision Magazine
14 August 2012
  • Excerpt: The SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) requires mutual fund companies to tell investors that a fund’s past performance does not necessarily predict future results—and the same could be said of Blu-ray players. In the case of LG, I’ve had the opportunity to audition its top-of-the-line offering for each of the past four years.

LG BP620

hifitest.de
31 July 2012
