Summary: Absolute garbage. Both the player and LG's customer service. It worked fine for a couple months and then would not read any disc we tried to play. It just always comes up as "no disc". Called LG's customer service and they told me the lens was just dirty, so get a cleaning kit and that should fix it. So, I spent $20 on a cleaning kit and it still doesn't work. Called LG back up and asked what to do next.
Wifi doesn't work well, keep getting annoying icon popping up on screen
17 November 2013
Summary: The wifi on my unit doesn't work half the time. Unfortunately, they don't have a way to turn it off. So when I'm watching a disc (which needs no wifi connection) I get this annoying world icon popping up every few seconds on the screen. This is extremely annoying, especially if I'm watching a 3D movie.
Summary: This player worked great until we had to do a software upgrade to play a newer Disney movie. Since then, it skips or there are portions of a movie you cannot hear. Every time we turn it on we have to do a software upgrade if there are any hopes that it will work properly.
Summary: I tried to plan a DVD and the movie played just fine but the audio skipped. When I played the same DVD on an identical LG blu ray player, it played correctly, so I returned the player and will buy a different brand.
Summary: Some retailers seemed confused as they advertised numerous features about this unit which are not true. This is a 3D BD player with some minimal smart-tv functions -and that's it -nothing more. 2 pay services, Youtube, and some other nonsense. I cannot imagine any future upgrade options would be made available as they would certainly make this unit compete against the more expensive units. WiFi? It is far too slow to allow Youtube to work without constant pauses.
Summary: There are no directions with this product. The cable needed to connect the bluray player to the TV is not included. That should be indicated on the box. What a rip off. I will be returning product for a full refund. I doubt ifI will ever buy another LG product.
Summary: I was just hooking up my brand new player, right out of the box...but there is no HDMI cable to hook it up to my tv. There is only the ac power. I have to go buy one? What a pain. I'm definitely contacting LG.
