Summary: I am tempted to just write "You can do better than this item" but this probably would not be very useful even though I don't even know if this is still sold. 1. Very very slow load times 2. No java menu support for HD-DVD's (who cares now really) 3. It leaves one wondering if there is something wrong or is it really supposed to act this way.
Summary: One tray solution to the HDDVD/Blu-Ray format war. Put in either a HDDVD or a Blu-Ray disc and it plays. Period. Makes format irrelevant. Both formats look equally good and more and more of these hybrids will be the answer. Price needs to drop a bit still.
Won't let you play Special or Bonus Features on HD-DVD Discs!

Summary: None of your HD-DVD disc's special-bonus features can be played on this unit. ONLY THE MOVIE ITSELF! In fact, the title menu will not even appear when playing an HD-DVD disc. YOU WON'T LEARN THIS THROUGH THE PRODUCT SPECS! You can buy a regular $250 HD-DVD Player and it will play all of the features just fine, but this $1,000 unit won't! Go figure.
Summary: For people who don't want to live in a mechanical jungle, i.e a dvd player, Blu Ray as well as HD DvD player - then the LG BH100 is a good option. It also makes sense for those who have purchased HD DvD's and do not wish to spend hundreds of pounds dumping these and replaceing these with Blu Rays.
Awful. Should be called Blutamax. Buy an HD Player instead for less...

Summary: Put quite simply, dont waste your money. Spend £119.99 on an HD DVD player instead. This oversized piece of junk takes nearly 2 minutes!! to turn on and load a disk. It's also obsolete already. The interactive features of BluRay dont work properly and players with a 'profile' to fix this are not even on the market yet and current players CAN NOT BE UPGRADED!!!! to the newer profiles. So if you buy this then you need to buy another one next year to play the latest films!
Summary: I have only had this unit for 2 weeks but it DOES play both Blu Ray & HD DVD as well as up convert your stock of regular DVDs to High Def! It won't play the HDi "special features" menus w/o some manual selection, it will do the Blu Ray menus. LG has firmware updates on its' website and their customer service folks say that LG will support HDi features via update in the near future. Buy it, be happy, forget the format war and enjoy your movies!!!!
Excerpt: "Saw this at a friends house the other day - well i couldnt miss it since he was carping on and on about it. You might ask what all the hullabaloo was about? Well, this is the first dvd player that incorporates both blu ray and hd-dvd in one pretty little package. And that comes at one hell of a damn price. My mate brought it for close to £900 pounds and i almost hurled. I could have brought two PS3's or four XBOX 360's for that amount. Still though ...
Pros: both formats in one system, great pictures as you'ld expect
Summary: Vous souhaitez lire des HD DVD et Blu-Ray?
Cons: cher,mauvaise qualité,format HD - DVD inutile
