Summary: All the features are working well as mentioned except playing the normal VCD. I have tried many VCDs and the effect is the same. For other formats, it is OK. I have upgraded the firmware and the issue still persists.
Summary: I purchased this player mostly for its DLNA and Smart TV (Pandora, You Tube, etc.) I have had this player for barely 3 days and there were already 2 automatic software updates. The first software update failed 3/4 times and then it succeeded after some stars aligned.
Summary: Since I recently set up a media server at my house, and am looking to move to internet streaming and cutting cable, I was needing a another media player. The room in question did not have a blue ray or dvd player either, so I wanted a device that would do both. The BD650 does fine with discs.
Life is Good, but its not because of LG. Cheap, cheap, cheap...
Ace Cool "Joe", Amazon
21 November 2011
Summary: The LG BD 650 BluRay player I purchased in July 2011 will no longer play a disc, it will vibrate the heck out it though. So today is November 21st, the player lasted 4 months of very light use. I would say we have used the player maybe 15 times to watch a DVD or BluRay movie.
Summary: Pros: Plays most everything very well. Haven't had many issues with it. Will recognize nearly all network resources including shared network drives. This is a major plus as the player does not need an UPnP/DLNA server to play content. It will play content directly from shared network drive.
Summary: I purchased the BD650 new from Amazon recently because of the "Smart TV" feature which includes youtube / netflix etc. WARNING: When using the youtube application immediately you are forced to watch streaming video.
Summary: Initially I was really pleased with this DVD player, it was easy to set up and easy to operate. Our old player had died, and with 4 kids we go through quite a few dvd's, so we decided to upgrade to a blu ray, this was a cheap option to do so.
