Summary: My Canadian issue LG Blu-ray Player (BD660C) stopped working few days after the LG 1-year warranty. Discs started to vibrate excessively, with grinding noises, and typically get ejected with an "error" message few seconds after inserting the disc. I tried a few Blu-ray discs that previously worked flawlessly to make sure it was not due to a single warped disc.
Summary: In some advertising blurbs they refer to this unit as wireless WIFI, but a separate dongle is required for it to become wireless. As far as wired LAN connection however my unit would not see my LAN with wire. I called LG, all they could say was upgrade the unit software which was a process using my laptop and a flash drive and yet it still didn't work.
Summary: Bought this about a year ago and it worked fine the first couple of time we used it. After several months of not using it we subscribed to Netflix and started streaming movies, the only problem was that every 15 minutes the unit would just turn itself off. I contacted LG and they had me do a hard reset, it worked for another two movies and started again except now it turns off after 15 minutes no matter what media we are using. So...
Summary: Netflix died at 42 days after purchase LG says I have to send the Blueray back to them at my expense of course So I am out a blueray player because this is how the industry works To mad to write about the other problems this unit had and the other LG blueray players I bought that I had to return
Summary: stay away from this bluray player as much as you can. the bluray drive stops working after only *a week* after purchase, it will give grouting noise and display an "ERROR" message upon inserting DVD/bluray disc. I read some of the reviews posted here and it seems to be a common problem. ended up sending this back to manufacturer and buying some other bluray player from another vendor.
Summary: After 6 months, the drive of my LG BD650 occasionally stopped working. After 8 months, the drive stopped completely and it will no longer stay connected to the network. I tried contacting LG via their web site, but have heard no response after 3 days.
Summary: The unit will drop the wireless signal when the stop button is pushed while watching netflix. As long as you watch the movie all the way through I have no issues with losing connection. The unit freezes up, the only way to get it working is to unplug the unit and restart. There are times when the netflix app will not start saying there is no connection. But when I check the connection it is connected. Updates have never been accepted.
Unreliable: Died after playing only about 3 or 4 DVDs
Olubunmi Oladunjoye, Amazon
15 April 2012
Summary: This DVD died within 6months of purchase after playing just 3 or 4 DVDs. Any time I put a DVD or a Blue Ray Disc in the player, it will just make a loud grouting noise and display an "ERROR" message. I usually stream my movies online from Amazon or Netflix, so I didn't play the disc very often. You would expect the player to be ready when you need it, but this player is extremely unreliable. This is a common problem with the LG players.
