Summary: This is my first venture into Blu-Ray but I did not jump right into the purchase. After months of researching I decided this one best fit my needs. It was so easy to set up (I have it hooked up to a LG55LH90 HDTV) as it pulls the television over to it when the Blu-Ray is turned on. I have it hard-wired to my LAN so I cannot speak as to the quality of the wireless. Netflix has been seamless and Pandora has quickly become my favorite feature about this device.
Summary: I was torn between the Samsung bd-c6500 and this LG player. I chose the samsung because I have had pretty good success in the past with Samsung ---terrible mistake. The samsung would not stay connected to my network---and I had just bought a brand new Netgear router-their latest model. I had the samsung for 1 day and was so frustrated, I immediately boxed it up and sent it back to Amazon and ordered the LG570.
Summary: I own Sony BDP-570 and LG BD570. I found them both equally good in terms of load time, picture quality, upscaling. They both have online streaming support that most people care about like netflix, pandora, vudu. Sony has more choice for online streaming such as NPR videos and Quriosity. But I will think that LG will soon add those with the software update.

Summary: LG BD570 has been by far the best player I've ever owned. Very impressed. It plays the movies off YouTube and some other tv programs for FREE. So even if I do not have any paid subscription, I still have lots of programs to watch. I am glad I bought it. Last year, it was around $300. This year it is selling at less than half the price.
Summary: I'm just a casual consumer, so I'm not knowledgeable about the technical specifics of this device, but it does exactly what I want it to and I'm very satisfied with it. I purchased this unit in August to go with my LG HDTV. Since I don't have TV, I use it almost every day to view DVDs or Netflix streaming. Styling: The device is small and light, and fits very well on a small shelf. It has a plastic cover over the front that you need to open in order to insert a DVD.
Summary: I had planned on purchasing a PS3, but couldn't justify spending double what the BD570 cost. After doing much research, I decided to take a chance on the LG and have been quite satisfied. Setup was really easy. I had the quick start guide in my hand, but found that I really didn't need it. In about five minutes the player was set up and connected to my wireless network. It was also quite easy to check for updates to the firmware and install.
Summary: It took few minutes to setup the wireless and that was it.and few seconds to connect to Netflix. The auto update feature lets you get the latest software if you select it. picture quality is Awesome. menu is ez to navigate. it has a lot of features. solid built and classy looking. The only con is I wish I had bought two.
Summary: After reading the reviews I decided on the LG BD570 and I have been very pleased with my decision. Very happy with speed of operation and picture quality. The best features are the wireless connectivity to both your own LAN and to favorites like Netflix and You Tube. The Pandora service is with excellent sound including sub-woofer channel. The LAN setup allows you to draw photos and movies from your other computers and drives and easily send them to your TV.
Good Media PC Alternative - IT can browse my network!

Summary: Ditto to all the good things others have said. I want to add some additional notes about the Internet and Network abilities. I have PC's hooked up to almost every TV in my house, and I frequently play .MPG, .AVI and .MKV files. I was delighted to discover that this Blueray Player could browse my network shares when provided with a username and password. It can easily navigate up and down file directories using several different views.
Summary: The first main thing is that this DVD player has great picture quality, as one would expect from LG. If you haven't used a DVD to view online streaming video such as Netflix, as I hadn't, you'll see this DVD player makes it super-easy. Just input your Wi-Fi code, and the built-in Wi-Fi, which has the most intuitive interface, is a pleasure. But what really does the trick is LG's NetCast online service. My experience thus far has been nothing short of flawless.
