You must do the software updates sequentially, don't skip to the latest

Summary: I too spent extra hours getting this player to work because of the software update problems. The wifi update failed after 45 minutes of downloading (people posted rumors that LG servers are overwhelmed). So I went to the very, and I mean extremly poor, LG website and found the software updates.
Good player, but Amazon's description is incorrect.

Summary: My main reason for this review is to point out a couple of misleading errors in Amazon's Product Description for this player. First, the BD570 does NOT have 1GB of onboard memory. It has none. You'll need a USB memory stick if you want BD-Live. Second, it does NOT have 7.1ch analog output.
Great Blu-Ray, lousy streaming...Whoops! read edit!

Summary: Few complaints about it as a BD player (lacks a subtitle button on the remote) but my $100 Roku-HD does far better wireless streaming. So skip the wireless streaming feature your LG Blu-Ray and buy the Roku with the savings.
Summary: I tried connecting an external hard drive to the USB port and it not only didn't work, but ruined the drive. Now it no longer works when connected to my computer. I bought a new drive thinking the old one was just bad and it did the same thing.
Summary: I read the good reviews, and based on that ordered this product. First let me say the DVD upscaling picture is fantastic. The product interface is well laid out and easy to use. I really, really wanted to keep the player, but could not get wireless networking to work as advertised, and this was the...
Summary: Why Did I Buy This Player: First Blue Ray players are common and there are not that many differences in the actual playing of a Blue Ray disc. I bought this player over others primarily to view photos and play music from a USB drive and replace a standard DVD Player and Roku Soundbridge (digital...
Summary: I bought this because of the great price, DLNA and built in WIFI. However the DLNA function is very sluggish. It's nowhere near as good as an Xbox 360. You Tube is nice, the picture quality is very good but the on screen keyboard is hard to use. As for Bluray, its great.
Was einen stört findet man erst viel später heraus...
