DVD stopped working within 2 weeks; Bluray stopped within a year
17 September 2012
Summary: Bought this for $50 at a big box store that rhymes with Bal-Mart. It played about 3 or 4 dvds but then about 2 weeks after we bought it, it stopped playing DVD's altogether. Still played Blurays though.
Summary: I bought this player for my parents. They hardly used the player. Its been 10 month since I bought it for them. It is now broke. LG wants them to pay $69 if they have the receipt. This is not worth it. I have had nothing but problems with all my LG products, including my washer and dryer.
Summary: Just a warning do not update the firmware on this player or you will lost the DVD playing feature and LG will do nothing but want to charge you to fix it. LG (Life's Good??) LIFE SUCKS with LG.
Summary: I am on a very limited income and had to save for a long time to be able to purchase this player for my husband for Christmas. While finances shouldn't come into play for a review I find it important to state that while $70 may not be much money to LG it was a small fortune to us.
Summary: The LG BD530 never really worked as it should and when it started shuting down and calls were made to Customer Service they tried having me reboot, hard start and several other little tricks and finally the machine completely shut down with my DVD inside.
Great basic player -- problem with sharp aquos TVs
25 April 2011
Summary: This player has great basic functionalities. It plays Blu Rays just fine and they look great. My two major gripes are: -no netflix streaming -the LG blu ray player will not turn off when a sharp aquos TV is connected to it.
Summary: I don't know what to say - This blu-ray is great with the "regular" DVDs but when I purchased 3 blu-ray DVDs (which I can't return since I open the package (I had to see maybe I got a bad DVDs--Idiot Me!
