Summary: I would definitely not recommend this unit. The audio cuts in and out when you play music cd's and it works about half the time when you go to eject a disc. I have tried to update the firmware to the latest version off of the website and it errors out every time. I would steer clear and spend the extra bucks for a better player.
Summary: This BD player is very user friendly. The network features are pretty limited (Youtube channel is fuzzy), but the playback is great. Only recently, whenever I leave a disc paused for a period of a couple minutes or so, the player freezes and I have to unplug it to reboot. It also happens when I fast forward or rewind, not every time, but I'd say 3 out of 5 times it freezes.
Summary: Bought this because it could play any disk and most any file types via USB. After 6 months now inserting a disk is grinds and then says error and ejects the disk. So I bought a player to play any disk but instead it PLAYS NO DISKS! I see several other reviews stating the same issues. I contacted LG and the would only replace it if I have the Receipt. Who keeps a receipt for 6 months? Walmart no longer stocks this junk so I cant replace it at the store either.
Summary: Bought this dvd player for my daughter for Christmas in 2010. Worked great for about 4 months. Now will no longer read DVD's, guess I get to purchase another one this year. Very disappointed and embarrassed.
Summary: I purchased a blu-ray 530BD at the end of November in 2010. I use it once or twice a month and did not experience any problems until August 13, 2011. I put in a disc and it makes a funny growling noise and a 'check disc' error message appears on my screen. I called the support desk and gave them the information and the person said that they would analyze the problem and get back with me. Ten days later I called them and asked about their solution.
Summary: I am on a very limited income and had to save for a long time to be able to purchase this player for my husband for Christmas. While finances shouldn't come into play for a review I find it important to state that while $70 may not be much money to LG it was a small fortune to us. Jump forward to after the holidays, we connected the unit and watch the whopping 2 discs we had a couple times apiece over the next several months.
Summary: It worked great for the first couple months. After that it began giving an "error" message and ejecting the DVD/BluRay disc. You never know if something is going to play or not in it. I got ahold of LG support and they told me to do a software update on it. Well, I tried that...still have the same issue as before.
