Summary: This was an amazing deal at the time and worked great for about 6 months. After that the Blu-Ray laser must have burned out because now it only reads DVDs. Please correct this issue with future models.
Summary: I was using Google to search for a fix to my Blu-ray player which locks up a third to half way through movies. The funny thing is I didn't use the model number or even manufacturer. The rub.......using the limited search parameters I did, linked me to Amazon.com for this product and I had to laugh when I looked up towards the top of the screen and saw the message "You purchased this item on November 25, 2009." Needless to say I wouldn't reccomend.
Summary: Although this player has a really good picture on my TV, it does not read some bluray discs. I even did a firmware update, but it still does not read some of the blurays. When I put those movies that the player wont read into our PS3, they work just fine. I would never buy this player again. It is very frustrating to rent or buy a new bluray only to have to bring the PS3 into our family room in order to watch the movie as a family.
Player is stuck at 'hello' sequence and does not play or eject

Summary: After purchasing this unit a year and a half ago, I should've been weary when the box that ws delivered with it was crushed in. But alas, after watching mostly DVDs and an occassionaly Bluray disc or two, its now stuck on some perpertual 'Hello' LED sequeuence and will not play my Netflix DVD or eject it.
Summary: I bought this item in Dec 2009. It is barely a year old and it will not play current BLU-RAY releases like "The Town". Downloaded the latest update from their site but it has not solved the problem. I will not elaborate on the problems I have with my LG HDTV. LG does not make a reliable product and they are not an honorable corporation. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCT! Update: I have had several email correspondences With LG customer dis-service.
Summary: Simply put, despite only moderate use...perhaps one or two movies a month, this player is no longer functioning just a bit over a year after purchase. When it did work, it was slow to load movies, the controls were sluggish, and overall a very average blu-ray player. I'd strongly recommend spending an extra $50 or so and finding a better player. It's a poor quality device and a classic example of "you get what you pay for".
Summary: Like many other's have already stated, this player stops working after a few months. It will no longer play blurays it used to play, and it no longer plays dvd's either. I have to turn it off and then turn it back on and sometimes it play. Not worth the money- very poor quality in my opinion.
Summary: Updated from a purchase of December 2009; I bought the LG BD270 Blu-ray player on December 2009. It works fine until we bought the new blu-ray movies. The Toy-story 3 blu-ray did not work. I called LG and just received the firmware as of January 2011. After the updated, the Toy story 3 blu-ray still did not work . The Inception movie had a few stops throughout the movie but I could pass since it was not the entire movie like the Toy Story 3.
Summary: This machine was a huge disappointment. After several months, the unit stopped playing Blu-Rays. I called LG, but their customer service representatives were bumbling, unhelpful, condescending and, at times, rude. Firmware updates did not resolve the problem. In the end, they wanted $69.00 (plus shipping) to repair the defective machine. I replaced the BD270 with a Samsung, which is far more reliable.
