Buy it because you have DVD's - you do not need Blu-Rays!

Summary: I rarely review, but I do feel like I should for this Blu-Ray player. Bottom line: up-scaling is so good that you do not need to rent Blu-Rays. I am somewhat of an audiophile, and overall I feel like I have good eye for differences in video, and so I have seen enough at this point to realize that I...
the best performer/price/load speed ratio for a BD player !!

Summary: I wanted to take the time and find the proper BD player for my needs, just like I did buying my HDTV's - which means a lot of reading on the AVS forums plus reading Amazon & CNET reviews as well. I never burn my own disc, rentals and store bought blu ray's only, plus CD's.
Summary: All I can say about this amazing BD player is Wow! When I was originally shopping for BD players I was looking at brands like Sony and LG. I went to Amazon's website to make my purchase figuring that I would get the best price.
Summary: I bought this to replace a PS3 that I am moving to a different TV. Setup was quick and easy. Upgrading firmware was also quick and easy using a flash drive. The Blu-ray picture is just as good as the PS3. The upscaling of a standard DVD to 1080p looks better on this JVC than on the PS3 to me.
Summary: This is our first blu ray purchase. After many trips to the store and talking w/all the reps, we decided on the JVC. We could get a better price online than the stores were offering so we ordered from Amazon. We have been extremely happy with this player so far.
Summary: I absolutely love this player!! I've had a Samsung BluRay player (BD-P1400) for a little over a year, and it absolutely drove me crazy with it's slow loading times, unresponsiveness, freezing, glitches, problems with upgrades...and their customer service is some of the worst I've ever dealt with.
