DONT BUY INSIGNIA

  • Summary: Three years ago we purchased an Insignia DVD player. Now it is outdated and will not play new Blu rays . We called Insignia regarding this, and they said tough luck. One manager went as far as you say the customer is always wrong. Please spread the word on this share this with everyone you know.

  • Summary: Insignia discontinued making all Blu-ray players, and do not support updates to the Firmware. I tried to play "The Heat" (Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy) and it wont play. Screen says, "WARNING. Your Blu-ray player requires an update in order to play this disc.

  • Summary: My mom purchased 3 of these for the family, all the same day, when these were on sale at best buy on Oct 26th, 2009 for $99. We didn't purchase the warranty for these, and took a chance on these 3.

Don't waste your money

  • Summary: Stopped playing DVDs after a year. Once the warranty expired of course. It was a pain setting up the Netflix account. I had to spend an hour on the phone with tech support. The remote worked whenever it felt like. It was very slow loading Netflix or Pandora.

  • Summary: I have had this Blu-ray player for a while and had the same issues as most: crappy remote etc. but it wasn't until today that I had an issue with Netflix streaming that I had to call Insignia a.k.a. Best Buy customer support.

  • Summary: Love this Blu Ray Player, works great for the price and easily the best feature is the Netflix. Stream movies ultra fast to your TV with a Netflix subscription (sold separately but it's under $10 bux a month ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!) The Wi-Fi connection makes everything simple and clutter-free.

The remote only works intermittently

  • Summary: The remote doesn't work, one previous model broke but was replaced by Best-Buy because it was under a year and I kept the warranty info, the replacement worked fine for a while but now occasionally makes a loud whirring and clanking noise when playing a disc. The picture is good though.

  • Summary: In my view, this item is not worth the price even though it is very inexpensive. The remote control works so poorly and unreliably that unless you want to keep getting up and adjusting what the machine is doing its difficult to use.

  • Summary: Mine works fine! I had to do 2 firmware updates since I bought it but I was sent a firmware updated disc which was nice. Streams Netflix with no problems at all. Only complaint is the remote is a bit weird.
