I bought this camera today. The first thing I noticed was there was no sound on the video. After reading the reviews I tried it again. You have to hold the camera right next to your ear to hear anything (and it was turned all the way up)! Pictures seem grainy on the screen but I did not print any. I had a Z885 and loved it (broke it sledding) so I thought this would be a step up but the quality just doesn't seem to be there. I think I am going to return it but the price was right 129.00.

I just bought this camera. It is really great and the features are amazing for a point-and-shoot with some extras. One correction though, you can use the ZOOM option while recording a video. You can look at other reviews and all of them mention that you can zoom while recording a video. Check Cnet.com or Pcworld.com reviews for that.

Hi, I just bought this camera and was about to call Kodak about my being unable to transfer pictures to my computer. Then I figured out the problem based on a comment above where someone took their first camera back and even the second one needed to have the camera-end of its usb cable pushed hard into the camera. If you're having trouble transferring pics to your comp, and your comp isn't even detecting the camera, it could be because the floppy thing that covers where you connect the cord to your camera is getting in the way of pushing the plug all the way into the camera. If it's not every millimetre of the way into the camera, it won't work and your comp wont even detect it. You have to spin the covering around so it's edge is parallel to the plug so its not overlapping at all, silly design flaw.

Purchased this camera on the 19th February. Like it. Pictures are great. Only thing that I have found since loading the software is that many file names on my computer have change colour from black to blue! I did a restore point to the day prior to loading the software and it took the software off but the coloured file names still remained blue. I undid the restore point and all the software was reloaded, but the coloured file names still remain. Why is this. I have never had this happen before.

I have had this camera for about 6 months now and am still having problems with the pictures. They are very grainy and pixeled. I have contacted Kodak and they keep telling me to test it in a perfect lighting condition. In the perfect light the pictures are beautiful and outside too. I tried using it at a bowling birthday party and the pictures are grainy,blurry and yellowish. I don't understand it because most of the reviews say the pictures are great.

You said " I’m not including a sample video for you, it’s just your basic video camera that’s built into a still picture camera, it works, but don’t expect the quality of a dedicated video camera. The microphone does a good job at picking up sounds, you will hear everything, including any extraneous background noises. " I hope that you are right, because I just got this camera and the video sound SUCKS!!! I called Kodak and the guy said as long as I could hear anything at all, then it is okay. I have to put my ear to the speaker to hear anything audible - and yes, I have the volume all the way up. I am writing Kodak. I hope that I just got a lemon and can get a good one because I cannot abide the almost inaudible video sound. Did the one you tested actually have a decent video sound as you stated above?

I just bought the camera today. And after great research it's not a bad little camera for the price. It has it's flaws, but I'm sure once I play with it more I'll discover new things about it

I submitted this question earlier but it never appeared. My new Z915 has two sets of NI-MH batteries, one set is 1.5V and the other 1.2V. Can I use both?

My wife just purchased for me the Z915 and I'm somewhat confused. The camera came with two sets of NI-MH batteries. One set is 1.2V and the other is 1.5V. Normal alkalines are 1.5V so I'm wondering if I can safely use the 1.2V batteries.

The video sound is very very faint. The volume does fluctuate with the arrow keys but the loudest is still so very faint. Kodak customer service said this was normal, when you transfer it to the computer adjust the volume then. Seems strange. This is the second Z915 I have come across with same problem. Also if I hold this camera up to my ear I can hear a continuous faint buzzing sound, this is in all modes. Other than that the camera is perfect for the price. Can someone just confirm that their camera does or does not have these same issues? Thanks.

@nikos almp;ano :

What is the deal with the usb port or cable?
Am I looking in the right place?
I should be able to connect the cable to the top right side - correct?
I've never seen a connection site so small...
I wonder if I lost the cable they sent with it...I have a few items from Xmas that had usb cables and maybe I lost the one for this camera?
HELP!

This is a terrible camera in my opinion. I'm not sure if my box was dropped or otherwise before it came to be in my possession but it is one of the worst cameras I have ever owned. The picture on the screen is fuzzy, and the pictures turn out very grainy. Also, when I downloaded the pictures onto my computer the graininess got worse.

I am looking to get this camera. My question is: if you are saying: "you're not going to get very good close-up shots", does that mean that if I want good close-up shots, I need to be looking at a different camera? Or is there a manual setting that I would be able to use? Thanks!
