Product name: Pantech C610 Cellphone

DSCF7838

Last Friday I took a look at the Pantech Matrix, this week I’ve got another Pantech phone, the C610 . The C610 is a flip style phone with quite a few features that most people will like, it’s got Bluetooth stereo, still and video camera, video sharing, to name a few of the features.

The C610 seems to be a well made phone, it’s fairly easy to use, lightweight and overall not a bad phone, but there’s one small problem, or actually a big problem, call quality is not that good. It’s  a phone right? So you’d expect the actual call quality to be good, but everyone I talked to on the phone remarked that I sounded funny, and like I was in a tunnel, on my end calls did sound sort of muffled. I know it’s not my network as I’ve never had a problem with AT&T and any other phone.

So mostly everything about the Pantech C610 is exceptional, except for its main feature, phone calls…

Product name: InternetVue 2020 Wireless PC2TV Receiver

DSCF7762

HTPCs or Home Theater Personal Computers are a great things, they allow us to use the big screens of our televisions for everything we can do on a computer, and as the name suggests specifically they allow us to create a theater experience with a PC. Creating and owning an HTPC of course requires building another computer, which means more expenses including the electric to run it. What if there was an easier way to get the PC experience on your TV?

Today for review I’ve got the InternetVue 2020 Wireless PC2TV Receiver, it’s an interesting little box that looks just like a wireless router, but it has a more specific job, which is to receive whatever is on your PC and play it on your television wirelessly. The InternetVue 2020 virtually eliminates the need for an HTPC in the home as your regular PC becomes the HTPC, no matter where it is in the house.  As the name suggests you can also hook the InternetVue 2020 directly to the internet and enjoy streaming videos and more though the built in browser without having to even turn on your computer.

Included with the InternetVue 2020 is a remote control as well that will allow you to control your PC through it, so it really is just like having an HTPC, but without the need for a whole other computer in your living room. The InternetVue 202o is small and discrete, so it can be placed out of the way and out of view but yet you still have full access to it’s features.

So continue on to check out this great little gadget…

Manufacturer: Brother
Product name: Brother MFC-790CW Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer

DSCF8371

All-in-one printer have become very popular, especially since more and more and more people are working from home. These home offices need something that can do everything for them as space is limited to have several devices around, and with most home offices the computer is also their personal computer, so it’s nice to have a machine that does everything for business and personal use.

A little while ago I took a look at an excellent all-in-one printer from Epson, the Workforce 600, today for review I’ve got another, this one is from Brother, it’s the MFC-790CW. It’s almost as feature packed as the Epson, but the Brother has a phone built in, LCD touchscreen and voice messaging center as well, something the Epson did not have.

The Brother MFC-790CW is an excellent choice for the home office or small business that needs something that can do everything.

DSCF7743

Today it seems that most every company that makes anything computer related is coming out with a gaming mouse, you’ve just got so many choices if you’re looking to buy a mouse. Since there are so many mice out there, companies are adding special features to their mice to make them stand out from the rest, and sometimes these features are great and other times they’re rather pointless.

Silverstone is known for excellent quality products, especially their PC cases, but they’ve decided to venture into the gaming mouse market. Their first entry is the Raven Gaming Mouse, it features an OLED display to let you know the DPI settings of your mouse, a laser sensor up to 3200DPI, Macros and a very unique feature called a Flip 3D Thumb Scroll.

The Raven mouse is a very unique gaming mouse, in fact I’ve never seen anything like it, or least one with this scroll wheel sticking out of the side, and it’s also one of the heaviest mice I’ve had the chance to review. So, continue on to learn more about the Raven…

DSCF8132

When you’re building a custom system for yourself or someone else you’ll need to buy a case, and  if you look around you’ve got plenty of choices in all shapes colors and sizes. What sets one case apart from the others? Which case is the right one for you? What will the system inside be used for? These are just a few of the questions you’ll want to ask yourself when deciding on what PC case to purchase.

Today for review I’ve got a PC Case from our friends at AeroCool, it’s called the AeroRacer Pro and it’s certainly a case that sets itself apart from all of the others out there today. The AeroRacer features a large power button labeled ‘Engine Start’, and while that’s a cool little feature, what really makes this case stand out is the fan used to cool the case. The fan for the AeroRacer is a whopping 40cm in size, it takes up most all of the left side panel, and it’s fairly silent as well. It claims to be the biggest side panel fan in the world and I believe it, at least I haven’t seen anything quite like it out there yet.

So continue on to learn more about he AeroRacer Pro..

Manufacturer: Traveler's Tales
Product name: LEGO Batman: The Videogame

Bat35

LEGO Batman: The Videogame is the third LEGO adaptation from Traveller’s Tales. They previously took the Star Wars and Indiana Jones universes and converted them into the block form we know and love from our childhood.

In this version, Batman faces his biggest nightmare ever, the jailbreak from Arkham Asylum of every known villain from the Batman universe. Traveller’s Tales has brought the comic book sensibilities of the 70’s version of Batman, added the classic scoring of Danny Elfman distinct music from the Tim Burton interpretation and mixed it together with breakable blocks!

Those familiar with the previous LEGO games will have no problems picking up the nuances of LEGO Batman, while the game is simple enough for the beginner to pick up and learn quickly on the fly.

One of the best features of LEGO Batman is the ability to not only play as Batman or Robin, but the ability to play as both heroes and villains. Who wouldn’t want to play as their favorite super hero or super villain, if you prefer.

Manufacturer: Pantech
Product name: Pantech Matrix

DSCF7798

It’s Friday, a good day for a cellphone review eh?

I’ve got the Pantech Matrix dual slider qwerty phone for AT&T for review today, I’ve used the phone for the last week every day  doing what you would normally do with a phone… in my time with the Matrix I’ve actually come to like it very much, it’s a nice little phone that is lightweight, well made, easy to use and it’s got decent battery life as well.

The Matrix features a dual slider with standard keypad and full qwerty keyboard that allows for quick and easy texting and emailing. It also features a video camera that you can zoom while recording, a 1.3MP still camera, Bluetooth, MP3 player and even XM radio.

For phone reviews I give them seven days of everyday use, the phone being reviewed replaces my regular phone and goes with me everywhere, if by seven days I’m not accustomed to the phone then it’s go some problems that need to be worked out. With the Matrix I had no real problems at all, after a couple days of using it I was very comfortable with it. The Pantech Matrix is really a great little phone…

DSCF7899

Gold has been a status symbol for quite a long time,  it signifies power, wealth, and style to most people and up until now most USB drives haven’t been any of those things. What do you get when you take a tiny Pico series USB drive from Super Talent and add 24 karat gold? You get something that’s not only stylish and useful but well made and a bit classy.

The Pico-C Gold 8gb USB drive not only looks great but it’s part of the popular Pico series of USB drives  from Super Talent making it durable and water resistant as well. I love USB thumb drives, I’ve got all sorts of them in varying shapes and sizes floating around my desk at all times. The ones I’ve got range in various sizes, shapes colors and capacities, I just think they’re one of the coolest and most useful gadgets out there today.

I’ve got a double review for you today, I’ve got both the 4gig and 8gig versions of the Corsair Flash Voyager Mini USB Drives. These drives are rubberized for ruggedness and extremely small in size to be able to take them, and your data of course, anywhere with you. The Flash Voyager Mini is a cap-less drive giving it bonus points in my book as I just hate it when I lose the caps, the Voyager Mini is a retractable style drive that’s easy to use and looks great.

cavalry Cavalry 500 GB 3.5-inch USB 2.0 Aluminum Ext Hard Drive Storage

We all need more storage, in the form of a hard drive, personally I don’t like having them always running inside of my computer so I have several external enclosures for my storage, they’re used for backups mainly, so they don’t always have to be running and I feel it reduces wear and tear on them as well.

Geeks.com has sent me over the Cavalry 500GB Aluminum External Hard Drive Enclosure for review, and it’s not only fairly inexpensive but well made, fast and it’s aesthetically pleasing as well.

Cellphones are everywhere, we’ve all got them, and we all use them to talk all the time, but depending where you are it can be illegal to talk and drive, so with the introduction of these laws the sale of Bluetooth headsets have skyrocketed.  Not all Bluetooth headsets are created equal, you can find them ranging from a few dollars  to over one hundred, are these high priced headsets worth your money?

The Jawbone Bluetooth headset is one of the most popular on the market today, and they’ve recently released a version 2 which has been redesigned with a sleeker, more stylish look, and smaller profile, but yet retaining the same excellent noise elimination qualities of the original Jawbone.

Is the Jawbone2 worth the money? Is it really all that? Or is it just hype?
