Summary: After having this for a few months I can say it was well worth the investment ove. Once the gear wore out on our 3 year old Cuisinart and replacing it without a leak became impossible, I decided to look for another brand as the Cuisinart never chopped ice very well.
Summary: THE NEED: I was looking for a blender to replace a basic kitchen blender that I had owned for 15 or so years. The primary use of the blender is to make protein shakes that contain some frozen ingredients.
Summary: The pitcher does not "lock" into the base. This would not be a problem except the blender does not any sort of cylinder "siding" where pitcher meets the base. This make the pitcher very wobbly when you assemble it.
Summary: I borrowed my daughter's blender for a week, it is the same blender as this one except it has the smaller jar (40 oz) and the jar is glass. At first I was excited because mine was a plastic jar but now that I have made my protein shake in it, I am very disappointed.
Summary: I wanted mainly to clear something up here. The jar is polycarbonate, this is not cheap plastic, it is nearly unbreakable and is used as the canopy material on F22 jets, also for "bullet proof" windows in security vehicles, as well as the covers on car headlights.
Good at making smoothies, but if you buy, don't expect it to last too long due to plastic components

Summary: This is my third Waring and I was expecting the quality and performance I'd come to expect from Waring. It worked great for almost a year. And then I heard something rattling inside the blender.
Summary: Did a lot of research on blenders and thought that this one looked good for what I wanted it for, supposed to a professional grade that is used in bars for drinks . I found this won't even make a ice cream shake!!
