Classy, decent-working blender; difficult to clean and maintain

Excerpt: I purchased this blender in the retro green color and it looks beautiful in my kitchen. If looking good on the counter is important to you, the Waring gets five stars. The sleek glass jar and simple toggle switch make it prettier than many other blenders.
Summary: I want to love my blender but its spent more time broken and in the repair shop than I have ever used it. When it works, it works beautifully, cleans nicely, and makes excellent smoothies. I used my mother's for a couple months several times a day with no problems.
Summary: I have now had this blender for a month or so and have very positive experiences. When making vegetable purees (with little added liquid) the blender seems to be straining but so far has been up to the task; thus not the best blender for preparing baby food and might not survive long.
Innovative and wonderful design. Mediocre blending power.

Summary: Easy to operate, FAST, quiet, and easy to clean. Two speeds on an easy to clean base, with an unbreakable blender jar. This blender gets used daily to make healthy, perfectly smooth smoothies.
Summary: This blender is pretty amazing. I still can't believe how well it works. This is the first blender I've had that was over 50 bucks. The thing I'm not used to yet, is that it actually blends too well from what I'm used to. It liquefies everything you put in it.
