Summary: This blender is a replacement for top of the line Waring Blender that lasted less than a year. I bought this blender years ago and it lasted about 10 years. Blender is used just about every day, easy to clean and re-assemble. Would highly recommend the Waring WPB05 Professional Kitchen Blender to any one.

Summary: We received this on time as expected. but promptly re-packaged it for return. Why? 1. Pitcher is not secure on base and wobbles badly. HUGE potential for injury hazard. 2. Blades are encase in a flimsy plastic that I can bend by hand. Can't see how that would last for any length of time. 3. Lid did not sit very far down into pitcher and could not see how it would be able to make a proper seal. Overall this seems to be very poorly constructed in a casual glance.
Summary: I just realized I've had this blender for 8 years! It's still running perfectly, although I might need to put a little food grade lubricant into the blade stem because I've always just put everything in the dishwasher. As for blending ice, you just have to make sure there is some liquid on the bottom first. As long as what's inside has enough of a liquid consistency, it will pull the stuff on top down to the blades.
Summary: I'm a big fan of waring blenders, but this one does not deserve even one star. I bought it in March 2014 and it no longer works after a few uses. This blender looks great, but is not the waring quality you'd expect. The chopping blade is encased is a soft plastic instead of metal. The toggle switch came completely off and the motor was struggling to chop up tomatoes, lemon juice and jalapeños.
