Excerpt: This blender is used twice a day, every day, by my wife and I to make smoothies. I use crushed ice in mine as well. This is my second one. The first was replaced due to breaking the pitcher. I'm still using the motor unit from it.
Pros: Stable, Easy To Clean, Powerful, Good Pitcher, Precise Control
Excerpt: I use it mostly for smoothies. The blade is very small and often does not fully chop up all the frozen fruit that I put in there. I does not feel as well made as the 30 year old oyster blender that just broke down on me last month. For the money I spent I was expecting more. Was this review helpful?
Summary: This blender does not have a plastic bottom that screws off the glass part of the blender so you never have to worry about a monster spill from the bottom and don't have to fuss with tightening anything. This is the strongest motor I've seen on a ble ... nder. Smoothies are blended effortlessly.
Summary: I made a DUMB mistake and pinched the rubber gasket in half about 3 months after I bought this blender. I called customer service and they mailed me another one FREE no questions asked, and quickly. This is why you should purchase products MADE IN AM ... ERICA!
Summary: I make a killer margarita! Unfortunately, they have a tendency to kill blenders too. I've had seven blenders over the past 25 years. My first was a fantastic second-hand 1970's era Waring that lasted through eight years of ice crushing labor (and who knows what it went through before I got it).
Summary: This blender replaced a KitchenAid model, and there's really no comparison between the two. The Waring is superior at blending, pouring and clean-up. I've mostly used it for smoothies, using frozen fruit, protein powder and milk. It whips everything into a finely blended froth in no time.
Summary: We purchased this blender to make fruit smoothies primarily and it hasn't disappointed. It isn't too loud (but it is loud) and the simple toggle switch is a welcome change from blenders with so many speed selections.
The only downside is the pitcher does not seem to be dishwasher safe.
Summary: This is an expensive blender, and that's fine. But I was a fool for buying it. The seal between the base of the jar and the blade assembly leaks like nothing I've ever seen, and has since its second(!) use. On the third use, the blade assembly broke apart like it was made of graham crackers.
