Summary: It's very light, looks ok and is a reasonable price. BUT the design of the plastic device on the base of the jug to remove the blades for cleaning is hopeless, and is extremely painful on the fingers to put it mildly !
Summary: Bought one for Christmas 2012 but the blade assembly broke in April. Wife uses almost daily for smoothies and sometimes drinks including crushed ice. Replaced in September (lucky we found the receipt!) and Argos (Hornchurch) customer service was fantastic. Product performs well when functioning but jar and plastic blade assembly do feel somewhat cheap. If this one breaks will be forced to try a different brand.
Summary: I have had two of the exact same blender. The first broke mid-blending with spinach juice, and went all over the kitchen wall, and the replacement has just done the same, only five months after it was sent out. This time chocolate protein shake went everywhere. When the blender works, it is very good for the price. However, it is unforgivable that this exact problem has happened twice. However, to give Philips its due, they have replaced it in double quick time.
Summary: The plastic jug and fittings have a noticeable smell of "plastic" and it taints the liquidated juice. Have tried washing several times in the intensive cycle of the dishwasher, but the jug it still has a plastic smell. I guess you get what you pay for anyone reading this - AVOID buying this item unless you have no sense of taste or smell! One of the pitfall of buying on line, if I had got it at John Lewis I could have taken it back.
Summary: I bought this on the strength of the brand as well as the power rating of the motor, with the intention of making smoothies. It seems that the blades are too small to cope with fruit as they whizzed around but had little effect unless you really shook the machine. Plus it was pretty useless at crushing the ice. Overall disappointing I'm sorry to say.
Summary: Made a real mistake with this.....I needed to use it to roughly chop chocolate and it failed miserably. I also tried blending chickpeas and all it did was to gather in a clump at the bottom despite any liquid. I made a really bad choice and can't wait for it to break down so I can get rid of it. Poor value for money.
