Summary: The blender is a nightmare for those trying to blend frozen fruit. Because it only has one speed, it does not allow you to gradually increase and immediately creates an air pocket which stops the blending process. You have to keep stopping and bring the smoothie back down with a spoon to the blade so you can try to finish. This is also an unusually loud blender and one we as avid smoothie drinkers were really disappointed in.
Summary: Breaking a rubber gasket is not cause to criticize a blender, but breaking the driver shaft is most definitely. It depends what is put into the blender to make it break. My last one died after a piece of unchopped parsley was caught in the turning mechanism and burned out the motor. Since motors cannot be repaired or easily replaced that means a new machine. A big negative. The rubberized gaskets are nothing. I bought 10 of them last time I ordered at the hardware store.
If you want to crush ice, get the ice blade attachment

Summary: A lot of reviewers problems have seemed to be with crushed ice, or frozen fruit. I purchased an ice blade to go along with this (only $10 more) and it crushed everything up in about 4 seconds. My honey was thrilled with it!! We have gone through 2 other blenders this month alone, and I will be shocked if this doesn't last. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I would've like it better if the glass jar was just a little bigger.....
Summary: Purchased this item after reviewing the positive reviews. For the past 7 months we have used this product daily to make fruit smoothies using frozen fruits. With the series being named 'Professional', one would figure it would be able to handle such use. However this is not the case...the coupling broke off. The product advertisement states that its an 'all metal drive'...however the inside of the coupling is mostly rubber.
Summary: After extensive research I decided I would buy a Health Master. Then I read the reviews on the Oster BPST02 and thought that this blender was powerful enough to puree vegetables, fruits , crush ice and make the kind of veggie health drinks-kale, carotts, ginger root, tomatoes, and the like, but was sorely disappointed that it was very sluggish, slow and terribly loud. I mean LOUD and SLOW. The design of the blender does not promote shredding and blending.
Summary: I held off on ordering this model primarily based upon some of the comments regarding noise level, since I tend to be more sensitive to noise than most. While I'm not saying it's quiet (are there any good blenders that are?), I was pleasantly surprised by not having to so much as consider earplugs as a necessary accessory when using it to make a slushie, which it did in no time flat.
Summary: I cannot tell you how happy I am with this blender. It has metal gears at the bottom of the glass jar and the top of the motor, no flimsy rubber or plastic gears on this blender,.This is a powerful blender that goes through frozen fruit like it was bananas, whips up smoothies in seconds (I kid you not). I would have paid double for this great blender. If your looking for a quality made powerful blender, this is the choice for you, you will not be disappointed!
Summary: This blender was a great buy for my husband and me. We make smoothies every day, and our old Osterizer from the 70's was starting to give out on us. We wanted a blender that could take our abuse and also be compatible with our old blender's jar. This blender can crush ice and whip up a smoothie or milkshake in no time, and without having to scrape the sides down during blending like other blenders.
Summary: I purchased this blender two years ago. At that time, it was 12 bucks cheaper and was sold directly by Amazon. I use the blender 3 to 4 times per week for protein shakes, using about 8 pieces of ice. It still runs like the day I purchased it: loud but very effective at crushing the ice. It has been durable. I have had no problems with the moving parts and the exterior is easy to clean and looks new.
