If you want to crush ice, get the ice blade attachment

Summary: A lot of reviewers problems have seemed to be with crushed ice, or frozen fruit. I purchased an ice blade to go along with this (only $10 more) and it crushed everything up in about 4 seconds. My honey was thrilled with it!! We have gone through 2 other blenders this month alone, and I will be shocked if this doesn't last. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I would've like it better if the glass jar was just a little bigger.....
Summary: I held off on ordering this model primarily based upon some of the comments regarding noise level, since I tend to be more sensitive to noise than most. While I'm not saying it's quiet (are there any good blenders that are?), I was pleasantly surprised by not having to so much as consider earplugs as a necessary accessory when using it to make a slushie, which it did in no time flat.
Summary: I cannot tell you how happy I am with this blender. It has metal gears at the bottom of the glass jar and the top of the motor, no flimsy rubber or plastic gears on this blender,.This is a powerful blender that goes through frozen fruit like it was bananas, whips up smoothies in seconds (I kid you not). I would have paid double for this great blender. If your looking for a quality made powerful blender, this is the choice for you, you will not be disappointed!
Summary: I got this blender to make smoothies. Juice and (often frozen) fruit mixed together. This blender destroys everything you put in it. Viciously. The problem is it's only got two speeds: (1) Destroy and (2) Super-Destroy. Sometimes you have to turn the blender off to let the ingredients settle, so the edge of the blade will actually contact them, instead of them continuously bouncing off the top of the insano-blades.
Great blender, just wish it had more than one speed

Summary: I would give it 3.5 stars, really but it's better than a 3 so I had to put 4. This is certainly a powerful blender...sometimes I wonder if it's going to fly off the kitchen counter the second you turn it on. I thought I wouldn't care that there's only and on/off button but after using it a few times, it kind of bothers me...the second you flip the switch it's like going from 0-60 immediately and sometimes I just want to gently mix things, not pulverize them.
Summary: Purchased this 1 month ago and would make several smoothies a week. It worked well however I went to make a smoothie today and the drive shaft (made of plastic I come to find out) just snaps. So there is an obvious inconvenience while I go seek out how to go about getting this repaired. Since it's not as simple as getting a replacement part (i.e. a blade or the glass), I'll most likely have to send this off.
Summary: This is a great basic blender-- on, off, glass and metal parts, very effective for frozen drinks. BUT wear your earplugs-- the dogs bark (not that I can hear them-- or anything else-- while it's on) my brains rattle, and sonic distress ensues. Maybe I have too many reflective surfaces in my kitchen, but YIKES! IT'S LOUD!! And I use power tools and play loud music, so that should tell you something.
Summary: The title says it all. I would give it 5 stars if they somehow could make it quieter. My ears actually were ringing once when I turned it on high and stood next to it for about 15 seconds. Normally I turn it on then stand back. But hey, it works great!
Summary: The Oster BPST02 is the Energizer Bunny of Blenders! I have had it for several months and it works flawlessly. I use it several times a day to make all sorts of smoothies and power shakes. I swear this thing could grind bricks if I threw them in. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this product. Best of all it has only 2 settings: on or pulse - you don't have to wonder if you want speed setting 1 or 2 or 3.
Summary: I use it twice a day chopping tough vegetables sometimes running it for two or three minutes. The feet are wider than the non-pro beehive and the motor does not have the high pitch whine of the non-pro model. I wish I had known about the pro model before since the standard ones give out after a few years.
