OK - does the job

  • Summary: But....it is very heavy and it revs up and down as you go. It is also very loud. I have another one that is also an Oster that I like better than this one. I don't know why this one is so different. But it does the job.

How did I live without it?

Grace Davies, Amazon

  • Summary: This tool is simply great. I never thought I needed a hand blender, but it does a remarkably good mixing job. The Oster is nicely designed because the blade shaft separates from the motor for cleaning. Really good tool for a good price.

A good product, no need for something more elaborate.

  • Summary: This small blender is easy to use and easy to clean up. I had seen it at a friend's house, so was especially interested in how easy it is to clean. it is best to watch some online videos in order to see it being used, because the instruction book does not give enough orientation, in my opinion. I recommend it if you frequently make things like mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, cream soups like cream of broccoli or pumpkin soup.

broke during 2nd use

  • Summary: don't buy this -- it will break apart before you've even made your first cream soup! OK, i exaggerate -- I used it exactly TWICE before it fell apart. Hoping there weren't pieces of plastic in the soup that I served!!!

Solid- almost.

reviewer, Amazon
4 November 2013
  • Summary: I have owned three. What did my first two in, was the tiny gasket inside the bell, where the shaft inserts into the shaft. The gasket always ripped out after extensive puree activity of broth+chopped meats. The thickness of the puree was the determinant factor adding drag, friction, and subsequent wear on the gasket. I always put a drop of coconut oil on the gasket to quiet a squeak they might have.

Dangerous

one, Amazon
23 September 2013
  • Summary: I used mine to make soap with, all the oils were melted down, so it's not like I was blending ice chunks with it or something. The motor still works fine after around 12 uses but the past few times I've used it, the metal shaft with the blade in the bottom came flying off while in use. Luckily I had it down in my crock pot while this happened otherwise I'd be injured, most likely. I'm not buying this kind ever again.

A great product.

wysteria99, Ebay
3 June 2013
  • Summary: I bought this one to replace one that has been used at least twice daily for about two years. Actually I still use the old one , but have this one incase the old one has a problem. I think this is a great product for mixing breakfast shakes or fruit smoothies . I like this one over others I've seen because it comes with the plastic container to mix in , these types of mixers don't fit a normal glass.

Did not care for it

laura blair, Amazon
28 May 2013
  • Summary: Very small amount of splatter no matter how hard I tried to avoid it. I missed not having crushed ice in my protein drinks. This product performed fine if you don't mind a small amt of clean up.
