Do NOT buy this blender - will start to leak if bolt comes loose

Summary: This blender was fine for awhile. But the reason I am giving this one star is due to the constant leaking problems that occurred after blending smoothies. The bolt underneath the jar comes loose after blending and unless you lift it off the base and tighten it, whatever you pour into the jar will just leak out the bottom.
Summary: Why do they have to make the connecting parts from motor to blender jar/blades out of cheapo PLASTIC?? (Everything else is built pretty darn well). Blending creates friction on these parts and they will melt eventually. My jar didn't come off the base one day, as it had melted all the teeth and fused the parts together. It only took about 30-40 uses for this to happen. Kitchen Aide, if you're reading, I would gladly pay $20-30 extra for just.. two... metal... parts...
I am very pleased with the KitchenAid KSB465 4-speed Blender.

Summary: I bought this blender to replace the newer version of the blender that was a 2009 Christmas gift from my son. That blender had issues from the start. It always smelled like rubber was burning, probably because it was tough to get it to sit right. I tried to get it repaired, but the repair estimate was $105. No way. So I went online and found this KitchenAid blender. So far, it has worked perfectly and I am pleased.
This expensive blender did not do so well with frozen ...

Summary: This expensive blender did not do so well with frozen stuff. And now it is already broken after only 4 months of use. It keeps leaking all over, and the bolt will not tighten. Never buying from this seller again.
Summary: I love having crushed/fine ice with water and a little lemon. This will blend ice down like a snow cone maker. Had it for a couple years and it is still going strong. The unit wipes down nicely and I put the pitcher in the dishwasher and haven't had any problems.
