I would avoid this brand simply because of the poor parts support
7 December 2014
Summary: I have the predessesor to this model, the BL 16909 purchased in 2009. The blade assembly is leaking and they no offer the parts. This would not happen with an Oster, for which parts for a 5 year old or even 10 year old blender are readily available.
Summary: Don't buy this blender!! Mine started leaking after a couple months (and I only use it about once/week). Every time I use it, it smells like burning metal. It sounds as if a jet engine is taking off from your kitchen. Not worth the money-- I wish I could give mine back.
Summary: The top is hard to get seated. The measurements on the side of the jar start out too large (e.g. ml starts at 250ml) and increment too large (again by 250ml). Otherwise it is a fine unit. Looks nice on the counter top also.
Summary: The lid is flimsy thin plastic and doesn't fit on properly. The opening at the bottom of the blender glass is the wrong size for the hardware which means that its hard to put the blender on the base AND the liquid spills out of the blender because it doesn't seal.
Cons: cheap low quality, parts do not fit together properly, leaks all over
Summary: I laugh at myself every time I use this, because I can't believe how many decades I put off buying a new, modern blender! We make fruit smoothies every morning and have been using a 20-year-old blender for much too long. The Kalorik blender is modern, fun, and simple!
Summary: Thought the price indicated better quality in material used. Found the connecting part that turns the blades to be made of plastic. Questioned ability to crush ice adequately. Returned to store.
