Summary: This blender is perfect for its intended use. Its small taking up hardly any space on the counter; perfect for my morning smoothies. It has a travel lid so I can take it on the go. Nice sleek look. I have nothing bad to say about this blender. (Oh, forgot to mention that I got it on sale for under $13 and you really can't beat that!!).
Summary: The Hamilton Beach Single Serve Blender is the right blender for dorm rooms, small apartments, and very small kitchens. As the name suggests, the capacity is low -- just enough for one person not a family -- and there are not the bells and whistles of conventional blenders. The blending cup is an all plastic single, self contained unit that does not come apart for cleaning like most blenders -- except for the metal blending blades inside the cup itself.
Summary: this is my 4th one. the 1st one lasted over a year. I used it every day, sometimes twice a day. the 2nd one lasted close to a year. However the 3rd one I got only lasted about 3 months. I don't know why, but the motor gave out. The others, when they quit was because the hard rubber/plastic gears that hook the canister to the base stripped out. Each tooth frayed & the contact wouldn't be there.
Summary: I used this blender some for some simple smoothies and it works great. I do love the fact that you can just use the same cup, saves dishes. However I have tried to use it to blend ice and it doesn't work well at all, just spins and spins. I might try blending just a few ice cubes at a time but I'd rather not have to take the extra steps so I'm leaning towards not using this as much anymore.
