Summary: This was a great machine for chopping and blending for about two years of light use. It handled veggies much better than a friend's cheapo food processor and made good smoothies from a variety of fresh veggies/fruits. Then fresh fruit season ended and I started to add some frozen fruit into green smoothies.
Summary: Wonderfully powerful blender, and the first food processor that wasn't a waste of time Dedicated devices for food processors never made sense to me; but if you want to make sauces; it comes in handy. I LOVE the idea of the whole bottom portion of the blender unscrewing. Both pieces are easy to clean.
Summary: This is not the quality blender that I expect from Cuisinart. There are only two speeds; Hi and Low. It works fine on low but not on high. The blender container starts to unwind from the base when it's on high. The contents then leak all over the base. I have tightened it as tight as it will go but that doesn't help. Also, the blender base is a very flimsy piece of plastic with no way to lock onto the motor base.
Summary: I usually love the cuisinart brand. I can't say I love this product, in fact I can't stand it. Worked for the first three months. I don't ask much of either the blender or food processor - no more than twice a week between them. First the food processor chopping blade stopped working. I can't use it to chop any vegetables or make something as simple as pesto (without the pine nuts). So I tried to use the blender to make the pesto - same result.
Summary: We have had this blender/food processor for about a year and a half and are very happy with this product and are especially pleased with Cuisinart for excellent customer service. It works great and is easy to clean and is convenient to have both a blender and food processor in one convenient unit. Last week we had a problem with the cutting assembly in the blender.
Summary: It is a "compact" junior counter blender, not a heavy duty commercial motor. I've had big counter top juicers and larger blenders. I didn't want something that big. I was tired of having to break apart a lot of pieces to wash, dry and put away. I've used this blender for over a year for juicing fruits and veggies. I throw everything in it. I figured out early not over load it at first. I love it's heavy duty glass and a wide base; yet still light weight.
Summary: This thing stopped working after about five uses... I rinsed it down with a faucet, which makes me think it was water damage... I never submerged it in water or anything, but I think this is what caused it. I mean, seriously? It's a freakin blender, you should be able to get it wet without it breaking down. Since we never submerged it like the warranty said we're returning it today.
Summary: This unit is useful - in theory: terrible in practice. It will do a decent job of chopping small quantities of veggies, it will (eventually)turn almonds into almond butter, and it can puree a small amount of soup. Good to have on hand for small jobs. It is extremely noisy and earplugs should be used when the motor is set on high. The unit dances across the counter when chopping hard food, such as nuts, which can be a safety hazard.
Too loud and blades are stuck with a little over a year of use
8 April 2013
Summary: This blender is incredibly LOUD! If that's something you can let go, no problem up to now. However, with a little over a year of use, the blades became stuck (probably corroded on the inside). This never happened to any of my previous (crappy and not-so-crappy) blenders. Poor quality.
Summary: I use it for shredding cheese and vegt.Blending smoothies. There are more possibilities, but the toolbox was defected and broke. Its easy to operate and runs smoothly, otherwise Cuisnart customer service was easy to contact and replacing the part.
