but this Breville electric wok is one fine countertop appliance that no good chef should be without

Summary: A wok's a wok, but this Breville electric wok is one fine countertop appliance that no good chef should be without. I use it for preparing Chinese dishes as well as brewing gravies and sauces. The infinite temperature control puts all the "cooking control" at your fingertips!
Summary: So easy to use and does a great job. I was afraid to use it when I first bought it (old dog, new tricks syndrome). I left it in the cabinet for a month. Then, I finally pulled it out to make a chicken and veggie dish and I loved it!
Summary: This wok is large and quite heavy. It does a decent job when stir frying but does not have sufficiently large heating coil for deep frying except for small quantity of food. The temperature control has a fairly wide latency range which allows the heat to undershoot quite a bit before the heating...
Summary: Very sturdy. Cooked several stir fried recipies. Please note that you have to let it get hot. I wait 5 to 7 mins before adding oil. Wait and let it get hottest it can get before starting adding oil. Highly recommended!!
Summary: When it comes to Breville, I am a firm believer in their products. I have a lot of Breville product and they are what I consider the best made Kitchen products made. You definitely pay the price for purchasing Breville, but you do get what you pay for.
Summary: Oh my goodness, I love this thing! I am admittedly no wok/stir-fry expert. But I do love Breville appliances, have a killer juicer and a stand mixer that is the bomb from them. I wanted to get a good wok that had its own heat source, and research and my love for Breville led me to this one.
Great during the 1st 6 months .. then wok was useless.

Summary: Received this electric wok for my birthday in May 2014 - loved it. It worked great for veggies as well as seared meats. used it about 3-4 times per week. about 6 months into its use, permanent scratches started to show - see pics (we only use wooden & plastic utensils) ...
Summary: Heats up nicely, will sear food as promised. Cleans up easily for me, but it might be a bit heavy for some people to handle, carry and wash easily. Having difficulty attaching the wok to the base at times, takes a few tries sometimes..can get frustrating!
Summary: I bought this for my husband to see if it might expand his culinary horizons. He loves to cook, but has never seriously tried Chinese. OMG!! After several months, I feel like we've moved to Hong Kong!
