Summary: I too own this blender and have had the same problem with lack of power and trouble holding a charge. We basically stopped using the blender and it just hung on the wall in the kitchen. We just remodeled the kitchen and had this boxed up to give to good will. I was disappointed to let such a "nice" item go. We have a Breville ikon Hemisphere blender and it is great so I decided to investigate further.
Summary: I have had this for several years. Overall it was hard to use and never worked right. The combination of the buttons you need to press to get it turned on are very cumbersome. Now that battery is defective and I cannot find a way to get a replacement. Don't buy this product. Look for one that has a cord. This one is poorly designed and was very expensive.
Summary: This is the best thing since sliced bread. Space saver, easy cleanup, versatile can use in all types of containers, cordless makes it useable anywhere, and easy to use even with carpal tunnel. Great product.
great item a space saver this is a must for all who is on the go AAAA+++!!

Summary: very good item for the price easy to clean and breakdown nice and quiet motor and fits like a glove in both hand a must if you dont have the room for a big blender this will get the job done no cord and great look
Summary: I wish I'd read these reveiws first. Most of my Breville appliances are wonderful, but this is really crap. The motor will stall out for no reason. You have to then release pressure on both buttons, hold the power button down for a second, then hit the other button. I'm buying a Braun corded unit and wish I had never seen this. For a hundred bucks it is a total waste of money.
Summary: We got this for a wedding gift. It is so atrociously subpar and cruddy, I wouldn't give it to my worst enemy as a gift. It repeatedly stalls out, with a full charge, on high power, even when blending something pretty soft, like tomato soup. If I try it in a bowl of water as a test, it runs fine, but put it in a pretty soft soup and you have to repeatedly restart it, which given the button configuration, is difficult.
A fine blender if only Breville would admit they had a problem!

Summary: I purchased one of these immersion blenders a few years ago. I wanted the cordless functionality for making cream soups, sauces, etc.. I had the same problem that 90% of the Amazon reviewers had. I have an A. of Engineering degree, so I knew that the problem of stalling, lack of power, etc. had something to do with the "drive train", so I started checking.
Summary: We bought our niece a Cuisinart, and decided to buy ourselves a more "professional" immersion blender, the Breville. What a mistake! It worked about 4 times, before it stopped holding a charge. We'd leave it in the charging base, see that the indicator suggested it was ready to use, attempt to blend soup, and have it stop after about 5 seconds. Poorly manufactured product, and the Breville customer support response was disappointing on top of that.
