Summary: Save your money and buy a vitamix instead. This broke in about 6 months of me buying it. It also leaks from time to time and goes into overload mode easily. I also noticed that often times it would rattle and make a really loud noise.
Summary: Love this strong, beautiful blender. Must get rubber ring on correctly and not overtighten (like it says clearly on the bottom) or it will leak. Follow the directions, and its the best blender ever.
Summary: 'Three (3) years later (with a refurbished model) and absolutely no complaints! I HIGHLY recommend the Breville Ikon Hemisphere Blender. 'Attractive and functional to boot. It blends without having to intervene periodically with a foreign object, e.g., kitchen utensil. It blends very thoroughly and consistently; significantly more so than other blenders I have used in the past. My wife (who cooks daily) would have no other. A very worthwhile addition to any kitchen!
Summary: "Refurbished" doesn't always mean that you'll see any difference in the appearance or functionality of a product. Happy to report that this is the case with the Breville Blender I received and it looks great on my countertop next to my Breville wide toaster!
Summary: A very attractive and well specified machine fatally let down by poor manufacturing. As with many others, I read the many comments about leaks from the gasket between the blade assembly and the base, but went ahead anyway. It leaked straight out of the box. After many attempts and eventually using butter as a lubricant I could get it to seal... just. On closer inspection I realized why it was leaking.
Summary: I like sturdy appearance. The sound is tolerable as it does the jobs well. Cleanup is simple. I found the manual on line. It contained important information and was available in Spanish and other languages. Following advice, "Do not over tighten", caused me to have some leaking the first time I used my Breville; that is when I really appreciated the sealed buttons. I was able to clean up with no harm to my new Breville Blender.
Summary: Considering what Walmart has to offer at 1/2 the price, this refurbished blender is the exact cost it should be. I got a refurbished smartgrill on ebay for 1/2 the list price, also what the new units should go for, and I'm hoping their production line screws up some smartovens and juicers so amazon can sell them refurbished for a reasonable price as well. Their toaster is the only item I've seen that's even in the ballpark for what you're getting.
Summary: This blender is awesome. I paid $83 and it is worth $200. I replaced an expensive Kitchen Aid that wasn't doing the job. Like the prior reviews, yes this blender will take ice cubes and make snow, I took the snow ice and made a perfect snow ball.
Summary: I have used this blender 5 times. After the third time it started leaking. By the 5th time I realized that the problem was not the seal, but the blade fixture which had cracked. Actually the plastic piece with the threads that screw into the bottom of the jar cracked. On the Breville web site they show this piece for $15 but you can't order them. I have gone to several different sites with Breville parts, but the blade section is not available.
Reviews Scared Me But I Bought Anyway. GREAT DECISION!

Summary: I was almost scared off by all of the reviews that described this blender leaking and the rubber ring disintegrating. My husband and I held our breaths as we made our first smoothie, and the blender worked PERFECTLY! Best smoothie we have ever made and we had a nice KitchenAid blender before this one. We have had it for about two months now, and it daily crushes lots of ice for our morning smoothies.
