Power restrained!!!!Serious ice crusher and smoother maker.

Summary: Excellent blender! Lots of power, without the unnecessary speed which "whips." Simple design.Serious ice crusher!!!! Easy to clean. The paint on the base peels off, but does not effect the performance. Large pitcher, however it is plastic. I would prefer glass for easier cleaning.
Best blender for the money and a looker for your kitchen.

Summary: I purchased the Breville Blender due to its good reputation and reliability. I already had a Breville toaster and an espresso machine, all bought from Ebay. Love this new blender. My husband and I are enjoying smoothies for breakfast. I also like to make soups from scratch. Last night we had a delicious roasted red pepper soup which I blended in the Breville. I don't have an immersion blender. This isn't difficult to dismantle for cleaning.
Summary: The unit is so tall that it will not fit under the lip of my average USA kitchen cabinet without a small tilt to the side -- too tall. The sides of the pitcher are straight and do not neck down towards the blades much. When the blades start to spin, the first thing they do is launch the contents straight upwards. I have never experienced a blender lid more completely coated with liquids and food than using this blender. Not the biggest deal, but annoying.
Summary: Very well made and works fine, but it is overkill for making my daily protien drinks. Works a little better than my old $35 blender, but I am certain it will last a lot longer and it is far more quiet. Certainly it can do a lot more than what I use it for.
Summary: I used this product for a daily smoothie. It smelled like burning rubber each time I used it. The smell seemed unhealthy to breathe it in. It did not make a smooth smoothie, it was lumpy and chunky. The unit is too tall for an ordinary kitchen counter, it will not fit under the upper cabinets. The pitcher is way too large unless you are making drinks for 6-8 people at a time, but the pitcher pours beautifully.
Pros: Easy To Clean, Good Pitcher, Very quiet
Cons: Does not thoroughly chop, Odor of burning rubber, Pitcher too big, Smoothie had chunks in it, Unit too tall for counter
Summary: My wife has burnt the brushes out of 8 blenders in the last 18 months. She makes smoothies with frozen fruit and yogurt and she starts them way too thick. Anyway with 1000 watts of power this blender will do it and clean-up is easy as well.
