Summary: We have had a previous model (for use in the USA) of this blender for several years, and love it. It comes with a glass jar, which is so much easier to clean than plastic and doesn't scratch or hold odors. I like the shape of the jar as well--it seems to facilitate better blending of ingredients.

Summary: Some of the blenders make it obvious they are not for use in the USA but some of them list it in the fine print. This blender looks exactly like the blender I loved and was looking to replace. Not only was the company not very helpful but they refused to let me return the item.
Excerpt: I got my Braun PowerMax 5-Speed Jug Countertop Blender MX2050 less than three months ago for a present. I am absolutely in love with it. Normally I will not leave my blenders out in view because I think they just add clutter; however my Braun PowerMax 5-Speed Jug Blender I love to leave out and show...
Excerpt: This is a sensible blender for the amount of money spent. It does not leave chunks, it blends evenly and smoothly.Blending PowerWonderful blending power for the price. I use this every morning to make banana and strawberry smoothies and it is such a life savor.
Summary: I've had mine for years and during all that time, it's worked great - never a problem until just recently the plastic drive coupling broke. I replaced it for about $20 and voila; I have my favorite blender back. I would recommend this product. Braun products rule!
Excerpt: As a stay at home without a food processor this blender does ALOT of work in my kitchen. I mostly serve up pureed soups of my own creation and this blender makes a beautiful smoother texture to the soup.
Summary: I agree with the reviewer about the cheesy plastic drive coupling. Mine broke so I bought an extra one. The blender then worked for about a month and now the motor works but the blade does not turn. It was great while it lasted and based on this, Braun is no longer my favorite appliance maker.
Excerpt: My husband and I needed a new blender because our cheap twenty dollar one had broken. I am the kind of girl who does a lot of research before she buys anything, so I started looking around and reading reviews on blenders.
Summary: These blenders have a cheesy fragile plastic drive coupling which starts to shred after several uses, the shredding continues until no remaining mechanical link is left. To make matters worse, the motor starts to make noise and smell after a few months of use. Save your Money!
