Summary: Here I sit on Christmas Eve with many last-minute things to do. I decided to make a smoothie, hop in the car, and run some errands. LOL. I had to take the time to write a review because this product is laughably bad. I began using it Thanksgiving weekend, and have made 1-2 smoothies per week since then (for those who are not mathematically inclined, this totals about 8-9 smoothies).
If you get stuck with this blender... here is a tip so you can use it for a while.

Summary: I received this blender as a gift. It sucks for a lot of reasons, but the worst part, as many have mentioned, is that the bottom of the mixing jar comes off when you remove it from the base because it is poorly designed. If you hold on to ONLY the bottom black plastic part of the mixing jar when removing it, the bottom won't detach from the glass, thus preventing the catastrophic spillage.
Summary: This is a big ol good for nothin blender. I thought it may have just been me until i read the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. The ice just doesnt blend. I tried to add little ice and liquid at a time, but even that didnt work. I would also have the jar on the blender correctly and it wouldnt start until i magically twisted it to the way it wanted me to. Its like i was using a child safe blender.
Summary: I've been using this blender for well over two years I think, almost every single day for my morning smoothie. It's been fine this whole time. I had to replace the gasket or the blades once, I remember, but that was easy enough; I can't remember why. Yes replacing either one is half the price of a new blender, but it's been fine aside from that. I don't know what the complaint about unscrewing the jar it from the base is about.
