Black dear on bottom of blade assembly disintegrated
8 July 2013
Summary: While making a smoothie, the hard plastic gear on the bottom of the blade assembly overheated and split in two. I can't find a replacement part, so the whole thing looks to be headed to the landfill. It's too bad, because you would think a blender with the name "Crush Master" and a giant button on front that says "Ice Crush" could handle it. Poor product made worse by the lack of available repair options.
Summary: Product was under warranty when it broke for the second time after 2 months (first plastic cup base then motor), but when I called they said, "screw you. Even though it's under warranty, you have to pay shipping both ways which costs about as much as the blender. Sucker!" (ok, I added the "screw you" and "sucker", but that was the gist of it). I was surprised by both the lack of quality and by the lack of service for failed products under warranty.
Summary: I purchased this blender to replace the exact same one that lasted several months. I got considerable use from my first one so I felt comfortable buying another. However, during my before-use cleaning of the blade assembly (which I did by hand) the assembly fell apart. I spent like 30 minutes trying to simply screw the parts back together. I discovered that the nut did not fit the screw at all. I depend on blenders to to create a blended diet for my g-tube fed child.
Summary: Although some reviews were not good I decided to try this blender, it was a great price and there were some great reviews. I have always liked Black and Decker products. This blender is great. I have been using it at least 4 times a week no problems, crushes ice for protien drinks, blends well and I love the glass rather than the plastic some blenders have.
Summary: I have used this blender almost daily. For some reason the top part never sat right inside the bottom. It would start smoking more often than not. Now today I was trying to use it and the motor was running but the blades were not doing what they were supposed to.
Summary: This B&D crush master was pretty sad from the start: Firstly it wouldn`t sit on the base properly which should have been a clue as to how long it would last, secondly it wouldnt blend anything solid( even soft fruits) unless you put it in a little at a time and kept stopping to stir it around, and thirdly it stopped working only a couple of weeks after we started using it.
Summary: First, I devoted much time to researching Juicers for making sugar-free, organic drinks to increase my health. Following that study, I found that Juicers, regardless of their cost, all required a significant amount of clean-up and maintenance. Additionally, the amount of juice that they yielded was small in comparison to the ingredients placed within the juicer, all unacceptable to me.
Summary: Same problem as most of the other reviewers - the drive gear on the blade cracked while making a smoothie. Wish I would have looked more closely at the product before I bought it. Choosing to use plastic for the drive gear on a blender blade is ridiculous and a MAJOR design flaw. If this is how Black&Decker designs their products - one would be wise to avoid the brand - or at least look more closely. Definitely designed to break within 2 years.
Summary: I use this product each morning and it is easy as pie to use. I have never in my life had an appliance I liked so much and get so much use out of. The booklet that comes with it has incorrect information so I will state that the 'high' button is for the upper tier of processes and the 'low' is for the lower tier. To get more power, push the high in with whatever you are doing and if you need less, let the button stay out.
