Excerpt: The Straps are easily adjustable, the split rings and swivels seem solid (but I wish the swivels were metal or polycarb). The leather piece is a nice touch. Overall I can barely tell it's there when I'm wearing it, which is exactly as it should be. Very light, good features to prevent twisting.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy to install / use, Lightweight
Excerpt: Three...and counting! I have now purchased 3 Vortex Diamondback 8x42 Binoculars . The first was for myself, based on a recommendation from a bird-watching friend. The second was for my older sister when she began getting interested in ospreys 2 years ago. The most recent was for my younger sister when we all went to Florida together.
Summary: I am pleasantly surprised at the clarity and light transmission of my new Vortex Diamondback 8x42 binoculars. I own Steiner 8x30 military/marine and Nikon 7x50 ocean pro CF binoculars and I like the Vortex better. They are sturdy and easy to focus. The only slight downside is they feel a little heavier than the Steiner or Nikon. All three binoculars are priced in the same range.
Summary: I bought both the razor HD spotting scope as well as the razor HD 10x42 binos several years ago. I have compared them side by side to my brothers swarovski binos and spotting scope, both at full light and dusk. Neither him or I could tell a difference in clarity, certainly not a $1,000 to $2,000 difference. During a hunting accident, one of my pack horses rolled down a rocky mesa side, crushing my binos and spotting scope (as well as everything else).
Excerpt: So nice, I bought it twice! Love these binoculars. The right blend of quality, weight, and price. I especially love the close focus range. The Vortex Diamondback 8x42 Binocular is better than any other binoc in the price range. We used this model in my ornithology class in college.
Summary: I just purchased the RAZOR HD 10 10 X42 last week after looking at them for several months. I used my Cabelas point to purchase these and I won't buy anything but VORTEX products. I have their spotting scope and it is great. These binos will be perfect for deer hunting. Light weight and the field of view is perfect for me. These are much better than my Cabelas Euro 12 X 50 I have. Money (points in this case) well spent. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
Excerpt: Love these binoculars! After considerable research, I decided on the Vortex Diamondback 8x42 binocular and I have found them to be the exactly what I need for birdwatching and all-around viewing. Images are clear, focusing is quick, field of view is great. And, they fit my budget.
