Summary: wonderful for hiking, wildlife observation. An incredible value for compact binoculars with images that rival those of more expensive binoculars. Ideal for terrestrial viewing, and are easy to carry, decent construction. If you want to do Astronomically viewing, you should look for larger binoculars instead of these.
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Good clarity, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
Summary: My second pair. Appear to have optics and quality of all Pentax. Most are 3 to 4 times more expensive than these. You can't beat high quality binocs like these for the price. I keep a pair in each glove compartment or our cars.
Summary: Bought these to replace my trusty jupiter II`s. peripheral image quality very poor and not a patch on the II`s. My use is at foorball matches and bird watching on the go. My II`s focussing had worn and got jumpy but due to poor views from the III`s Iam still using the II`s at football but I have also bought a set of Nikon 8x25 travelite close focus which while being quite a bit bigger have a crystal clear field of view. maybe these are a one off but......
Summary: These Pentax binoculars are described as 'compact'. There is a 'similar' Pentax item with, as far as I can see, has identical specifications but not described as 'compact' that sell for more. I'd go for these. The optics are very good with a bright image, they are easy to use and comfortable to hold.
Summary: I bought this as a Christmas present for a friend, having set a £30 budget. He seemed happy with it as he wanted something basic and lightweight just for going to the races but if it was for me I would spend a little more money as there are other small binoculars with better ratings.
