Excellent Value for Your Money.

dostwald, Ebay

  • Summary: I purchased the Pentax DCF CS 8x42 binoculars as they were highly recommended by Space.com for casual astronomical viewing. I found the binoculars to be very well constructed with excellent eye relief and a very wide field of view. They are light-weight and easily held for steady images.

Almost great!

  • Excerpt: Finally, a consumer binocular with good eyerelief (21mm) yet still with a wide field of view (60 degrees at the eye). Spectacle wearers, like myself, require at least 21mm, and 23mm would be better still.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Eyerelief
  • Cons: Poor Contrast On Moon

Great Binos

  • Excerpt: I can tell you I researched and spent a great deal of time looking for binos. So save yourself time and listen to what I am saying. I am a bow/muzzle/rifle hunter and I use these binos all the time. These binos have incredible clarity and brightness. They are equivalent to a $900 pair of binos.

  • Excerpt: Novice user, used them to look at wildlife during hiking trip in Washington State. They were clear and easy to use. The strap is not so comfortable, would recommend buying something else for longterm wear.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light

Ecellent value

  • Excerpt: Have used for nightime floodlit sports events, long distance landscape viewing and local wild life. These were replacements for a very good but aging Zeis unit. I hoped to get something at this price that was nearly as good - this Pentax is better in all conditions. Very impresssed.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light

A sturdy first buy

Birder Blake, Adorama
2 April 2013
  • Excerpt: Though these weren't the pair I set out to buy, I am completely happy with what the sales clerk recommended. A great price for the quality, these binoculars have a great angle of view that makes it easy to track quick-moving birds.
  • Pros: Angle Of View, Lightweight
  • Cons: Chromatic Abberation
