Summary: These are a very rugged, waterproof, high quality astronomy binocular. They are extremely well made. Everything on them is solid and works smoothly. Perfectly collimated. Lots of contrast and very sharp. For the money, I think these are a steal.
Pros: rugged, sharp center to edge, light for their size
Summary: These binoculars are an unusual value in a world of expensive optics. The image is large, something important in high magnification optics. The image is crisp, resolution is high and contrast is very good. Shadow detail holds up even in deep shade and poor light. Eye cups are durable and function properly. I believe you would have to spend three or four times the money to get ANY improvement over these binoculars.
Pros: Very high optical performance at a very reasonable price
Summary: Binoculars failed to focus correctly (double vision) on the second day of my deer hunt. My suspicion is they failed during my ATV ride to the hunt site. Binoculars are not robust enough for hunting situations.
Summary: THE 20/60 HALVES THE OCEAN INTO TWO FIELDS FROM 100' ELEVATIONS. CHECK THE MAP: SURF BREAKING ON THE NORTH END OF CATALINA ISLAND AT THE HORIZON IS VISIBLE FROM SAN VINCENTE, SANTA MONICA BAY DIVIDES INTO TWO CLEARLY VISIBLE AREAS. FIN WHALES ARE IDENTIFIED AT 8 MILES. AT 3 FEATURES ARE CLEARLY VIEWED. CLOSER IN BIRDWATCHING IS EXCELENT FOR PERCHED BIRDS. EXCELLENT VALUE.
Summary: I own a celestron skymaster 15x70 binocular but I wanted something with a bit more power. So I upgraded to the pentax 20x60. I use the binoculars for astronomy and the occasional baseball games. The optics on the pentax are greater quality compared to the celestron. I'm still getting use to the very narrow field of view of the pentax. I order my first pentax in late november and it came with a damaged tripod adapter cap. I returned it and ordered a new pair.
