Great bino's

Ian, B&H Photo
31 December 2013
  • Excerpt: I don't know too much about binoculars however this will be my 5 pair in my life so I do have something to base an opinion on. From the moment I picked up the package from the post office I became exited as the weight of the box told me the contents where not a cheap set. On opening and first setting my eyes on my new Pentax 20x60 wp 11 binoculars I was totally impressed, they where of hardy construction with a rubberised outercoating.

  • Summary: I bought these binoculars because I wanted a new pair and they are a fantastic set. They are a bit larger than anticipated but I like everything else.

Great product but misaligned

  • Excerpt: It's a high quality bino for special use. Sharp images. Size and weight is acceptable for its capability. Much easier to use than a low power scope. Great eye relief. Not a general purpose bino though. However, I had to send two of them back because of a severe horizontal alignment (collimation) issue. Some people call it MasterCard effect. Luckily, B&H has a great customer service to deal with these problems.
  • Pros: Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses

fantastic and user friendly...

  • Excerpt: We owned a pair of Pentax 12x50 PCF WP II Binoculars that we've had for about 12 years.. (they still rock!) we wanted just a bit more power, so bought the 20x60. They are simply fantastic, and we love having both pairs to use. The reviews suggest that you cannot use these without a tripod for stability/shaking, so we bought a tripod... but they are actually fine with a steady hand without the tripod too.. Now on to the tripod..

Disappointed

Edward, B&H Photo
30 October 2013
  • Excerpt: I purchased it based on many positive reviews on B&H and elsewhere. However, my experience with this item was a major disappointment due to its poor assembly: - Excessive gaps between casing pieces. - Highly visible dried glue between the gaps. I returned it to exchange with another brand.
  • Pros: Lightweight
  • Cons: Poor Construction

  • Excerpt: Great bargain! I have always liked Pentax optics and decided to buy a pair of this Pentax PCF WP II 20x60 Binocular last year when money was tight but I needed some high-power glass for a mule deer hunt. I was very pleasantly surprised!

Clear, crisp, quality....

  • Excerpt: I bought these binoculars for general purpose terrestrial use, including birdwatching. They're also nice for lunar observations. In short, they do everything I could ask and I believe they are a quality product at a comparatively reasonable price. For myself, they are not too much magnification for hand holding. If you're able to place the barrel or an elbow on something stationary for temporary viewing, then stability isn't an issue at all.
  • Pros: Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof
  • Cons: None
