Summary: Bought this model as they were recommended by Which. They arrived the next day. They are just what we needed for our forthcoming coming holiday. Compact, lightweight and easy to use, with clear instructions.
Summary: Pros: Clear, bright image. They are light weight so easy to carry, compact, easy to focus, feel solid. Cons: lens caps are easy to lose - but that goes for all binoculars. After a couple of months use, there was a click while focusing and the collimation was completely out (centre on an object with one lens and the other lens shows the object at the side of the viewing area). I returned them through Amazon for a full refund and I'm getting the same ones again.
Summary: I bought these binoculars for bird spotting for which 8x is the best magnification factor to use. They are well made and light weight. With the 25mm objective lens diameter the PC 1's light gathering ability is perfect for spotting birds in dark shrubbery etc as well as for use in bright conditions.Thoroughly recommended as a mid-priced pair of binoculars for bird spotting and general use.
Summary: Had these for over 6 months now and I think they are great. To compare them, I also have a pair of much more expensive and better specified (8X36 & waterproof, roof prism) Bushnell binoculars. Optically, I can't distinguish between them - even though the Bushnells should at least produce a brighter image. These Olympus 8X25 PC I are somehow easier to focus too.
