Summary: Very quick delivery. I took these out straight away and found them really good considering the price. I am used to a mid-range priced pair of 'Bins' so difficult to compare with cheaper 'Bins'. I bought these because i needed a second pair as i keep missing garden birds when my usual pair is either upstairs when i am downstairs or vise versa so now i have a pair for upstairs and a pair for downstairs.
Summary: I was slightly disappointed when I opened the box. Despite what I'd read in the reviews the binoculars looked cheap. Not surprising for under 50 quid, but I have another set of Olympus binoculars that retail for about the same price and they look and feel much better than the DPS-1s. In use the image was sharp and bright, but I couldn't quite find that sweet-spot where there's a single circle not two. For comparison I tried my Bushnell 8x42 binoculars.
Summary: Was really amazed at the clarity of the view you get through these binos, the optics are really really good, I would say amazing and at this price, would highly recommend. I also use them for looking at the stars at night, and was pleasantly surprised at how clear the night views of the constellations were. You will not be disappointed if you buy these, they are excellent binoculars!
Summary: bought for a gift, my partner was thrilled with these. they were vastly superior to the ones he had been using. we have been able to watch the owls and woodpeckers nearby with so much more clarity and enjoyment.
Summary: Fact is, there is no way one is going to get optical perfection for around £50. As someone with years and years experience as an amateur astronomer, I know what things 'should' look like through a pair of binoculars. These binoculars are never going to match the quality one would expect from a pair for £200 or more. The focusing is not 100% perfect, and there is a small amount of image flare with brighter stars.
Summary: A great pair of binoculars but unfortunately they are shipped in the Olympus box displaying to all to see as it passes through the postal sytem that it is a pair of Olympus binoculars. Not great as it was one of the presents I bought for my wife at Christmas and she was handed the parcel by the postman. As the order was fulfilled by Amazon I was expecting a discrete Amazon box not the original packaging with a dispatch note cellotaped to the box.
Summary: An amazing pair of binoculars from Olympus. I got them only a few days ago and the weather is not great for star-gazing but I tried the Olympus Binocular 10x50 DPS-1 on a cloudy night and was stunned to see what I couldn't see with the naked eye. These Olympus binoculars reveal stars between the clouds!! Stars that are not easily visible on a cloudy night come into superb view using these 10x50 Olympus Binoculars. Awesome!!
Summary: though I bought it few months ago I didn't review it as I wanted to use it in practical situation; recently I went to kenya for a safari and really this binocular is fantastic, superb; Olympus is known and famous for its optical products but even then this one went above my expectation; i used nikon 55-300 camera lens but I couldn't see animal so near with the lens like this binocular; it was just like the animals are sitting within my hands' distance though they were...
