Excellent optics for field work at affordable price. Highly recommended.
7 July 2012
Summary: Outstanding binocular for the price. I also own Leitz Trinovid and Zeiss binoculars for field work. I bought these for one of my students to use and they are amazingly good. I have also used the Nikon Monarch series and honestly, these Trailblazers are almost as good. The eye relief is excellent on these for those who wear glasses. Chromatic corrections is also good. The 10x50's feel a bit large to the hand, but they are superb at gathering light at dawn/dusk.
Had to go with another model because of flawed exterior
1 May 2012
Summary: Regrettably, this binocs rubberized exterior was seriously flawed with oil drips that were deeply etched into the surface. Nikon should never have sent this to the e-tailer to begin with. Returned to merchant who agreed this was a loser. Because of this flaw, I didn't trust reordering same model and went with another Nikon binoc.
Summary: To my surprise, my interest in birding has gone way up the last few years. I'd been a backyard birder for 20 years, but now I'm going out into the field to see more species. I'm beginning to meet birding enthusiasts, and they all have the roof prism binoculars, which was making me self conscious because mine were the porro prism type, but they were Nikon. To find a pair of roof prism Nikon binocs for a little over a $100.00 was what I'd been waiting for.
Low pice high performance outdoor/sports binoculars
25 June 2009
Summary: Very high performance for the price! Nice clear image with good contrast. Very easy to focus. Reasonably good grip and handling. Perhaps bit big to take for longer trips if you have to carry a lot of other stuff in your backbag. These are made in China, as the price tag tells to anyone. A very good buy to any outdoor enthusiast.
Summary: The late light enchancing capability of these modestly priced glasses is very good. The weight and the eyepieces are not the best but I am very pleased considering my investment. The eyepieces that move in and out for adjustment seem to be cheaply made and the covers are not easy to keep up with. They serve the purpose of watching whitetail deer early or late in the day.
