Outstanding birding binoculars

  • Excerpt: The Monarch 7, 8x42, will replace my 25 year-old Swift binoculars. I had read various reviews that recommended the Nikon Monarch 7, so I ordered one and am very pleased with my purchase. The roof prism binoculars are light and much more compact than the porro prisms. The focus wheel is easy to turn. When focusing the roof prisms, your hands are closer together than when using the porro prism, and may taken some getting used to for those with larger hands.
  • Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses

  • Excerpt: I'm very picky about optics. These Monarch are very clear and easy to get focused, a little heavier than my Monarch 5 but the wide field of view is awesome. For the price, the Monarch 7 is one of the best binoculars you can buy.
  • Pros: Close Focus, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof

Love these binoculars

  • Excerpt: The optics on these binoculars are fantastic. We just used them on a three day wilderness boat trip and at one point I exclaimed - this is better than looking with my own eye up close! My husband and I are novice birders, and we are very happy with this purchase. One particular feature we like is how we can adjust the two eyepieces to see clearly with both eyes at once.

Best bang for the buck!

  • Excerpt: I needed a pair of eight power binoculars for birding. I have a pair of Swarovski 10x42 that I use for hawk watching. I love them, but they are too powerful for close range and I didn't want to spend another $ on a pair of binoculars. The quality of the Monarch 7 is fantastic. Lots of eye relief ( I wear glasses) and good field of view that makes it easy to get on your bird on the first try.

Excellent binoculars

  • Summary: Other reviews I have read have rated this series of binoculars quite high. For that reason I purchased a pair ant they have lived up to and exceeded my expectations. They have very clear magnifications in all types of lighting conditions I have used them in thus far. They are light and compact and are very easy to adjust and focus. They are much easier to locate the object you wish to view than other binoculars I have owned, and are superior in every respect.

Great for the Price

  • Excerpt: My high end binoculars for 30+ years has been rubber armoured Zeiss 8 X 30 waterproofs. I have had no trouble with them at all. I saw these Nikons on sale and decided to pick them up as a second pair/backup. Amazingly they are as sharp as the Zeiss and a little brighter. They were cheaper than the Zeiss cost me in 1980!

Excellent wide angle quality binoculars

Fred, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Excellent wide angle quality binoculars, good value for the price. Great for bird watching, even out the kitchen window at the bird feeder or in the field. Good wide angle of 8 degrees, which increases the price, well worth it. No negatives.
  • Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses
