Excerpt: I bought this based on the many positive reviews. It replaces a 10x42 pair. The major pluses are wider field of view and clearer brighter optics. I was surprised that these bino's weigh ad much as the 10x42's, but they are still a bit lighter than a similar power pair from Leica. Overall I am really happy with these.
Summary: Lens quality for Nikon's glass is superb for these binoculars. The conservative size and price of these field glasses offer a functional utility for my use of observing game, bird and sporting events.
Summary: Incredibly clear glass!!! Nice adjusting features and case. Bought these on sale at Cabela's mostly because the Monarch 7's are designed in a smaller package than most brands of equal price....much easier to fit in the pack and handle in the field. Optics are a '5' rating.
Summary: My son and I purchased the Monarch 7 Binoculars for our annual Deer hunt. We worked with Steve M. at the LaVista Cabela's and he was VERY helpful. He showed up several Binoculars that were in our price range. The Monarch 7's perform very well in low light conditions, which is when we need them the most. They are very clear and easy to focus. We are very happy with them and I would recommend them to any hunter, or outdoors person.
Excerpt: The Monarch 7, 8x42, will replace my 25 year-old Swift binoculars. I had read various reviews that recommended the Nikon Monarch 7, so I ordered one and am very pleased with my purchase. The roof prism binoculars are light and much more compact than the porro prisms. The focus wheel is easy to turn. When focusing the roof prisms, your hands are closer together than when using the porro prism, and may taken some getting used to for those with larger hands.
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses
Excerpt: I'm very picky about optics. These Monarch are very clear and easy to get focused, a little heavier than my Monarch 5 but the wide field of view is awesome. For the price, the Monarch 7 is one of the best binoculars you can buy.
Pros: Close Focus, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof
Excerpt: The optics on these binoculars are fantastic. We just used them on a three day wilderness boat trip and at one point I exclaimed - this is better than looking with my own eye up close! My husband and I are novice birders, and we are very happy with this purchase. One particular feature we like is how we can adjust the two eyepieces to see clearly with both eyes at once.
Pros: Close Focus, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Waterproof, Works Well With Glasses
