Excerpt: I bought these for sitting and spotting deer in dense bush over long distances instead of a spotting scope. They have performed well and above their purchase price in every aspect from construction to low light visibility, being the last couple of minutes before darkness. Best used on a tripod, though not necessary for short viewing periods, and the metal adapter is soild and steady. I had read others concerns about this adapter being hard to tighten up properly.
Excerpt: I am an entomologist and I bought these 20 x 56 binoculars to observe bird predation of insects with as much detail as possible. Birds are important biological control agents of pest insects. These are a little big but still well within a convenient size for carrying with other research supplies. The magnification at 20x is just what I was looking for as opposed to 10x etc which just didn't allow enough close up detail.
Excerpt: Awesome product, high contrast easy to use. The color correction is outstanding. Crisp image to the edge. No noticeable color on bright objects. After a lengthy cool down period. Star images rounded up better. The neck strap is too short and I am not fond of the eye lens covers. Excellent product.
Excerpt: I use these for birdwatching. They are so much lighter than the Monarch 4s I used to use. They are comfortable to carry around and quick and easy to focus. The wide lenses give great clarity in low light conditions. The 16x magnification is particularly useful for differentiating between species that are easily confused. They may be more expensive than some other brands but this is a case of getting what you pay for.
Summary: I'm really happy with these binoculars Monarch 5 16x56, are well built and the vision is very clear, at sunset are spectacular catch much light, I have fork many brands of binoculars and these have left me surprised by the sharpness, the only thing I did not like were the Rainguard easily fall but Monarch 100% recommend these for their excellent quality.
