Summary: I bought the 12x50 Action binos because a friend had the same in 8x50 and they were very good. After a year+ of being quite happy with my pair they developed a double image that made them extremely fatiguing to use - even for a few seconds. I sent them in for repair (not under warranty after a year) along with a check for about $28 which has never been cashed. The binos came back a tad better but developed the same double image within days so I mailed them back again.
Summary: we are very satisfied with our purchase. The magnification is just right and the wide field of vision is very nice when it comes to finding things at a distance. The focus is very clear, and it stays in focus. Overall a good purchase, and we look forward to years of service. So far, we haven't given it any serious outdoor use, so we cannot comment on fogging or performance in bad weather.
Summary: Loved them. They were clear and easy to use. The only issue I have is the front lense covers are kind of a pain to keep track of. Yes they have slots to hook on the straps, but they like to fall off with the slightest bump. Still, some of the best mid grade optics I've purchased. My two sons love them too. And I don't have to cringe when I let them use them.
Summary: I was amazed at the clarity of the Nikon binos. I have a pair of 10X40 Zeiss binos and wanted a pair of 16X40 for watching elk and sheep at Rocky Mountain National Park. I took the Nikons on my elk hunt and was able to spot a great bull at dusk on the last day of the hunt. They are very clear and a super value for the money!
